Armada with removable edges

that would be neat tho, if you fuck up your edges on rails to be able to take them out and put new ones in instead of replacing your entire ski

people are so whack. guys... blowing edges is a part of skiing. if you slide rails, its gonna happen. there's no way around it. get over it.

STUPID THREAD!!!

if they somehow got it to work so they would stay in real good that's a reaaaaally good idea. i like it. I know getting ur edges ruined is part of skiing and kind of a badge for park skiing but i wouldnt like to have to buy new skis if my edges completely fall out.

you killed the original. you are not funny and should never attempt to make another joke on this site ever again.

i was laughing so hard until i read this bitches comment. nice one nomensteven

can you imagine changing your edges like your goggles...fack

how sturdy would they be though? poppin em in and out. i dont think that would work

I was thinking about putting some threaded inserts on the bottom of my laroses that were the same size as the holes of the volant edges so they would be cake to replace. Just epoxy a strip of ptex over the counter sunk metal and your good to go. Its definately possible to design a ski with replaceable edges that skis aswell as a traditional design.

To anyone from armada that wants my ideas on paper to actualy make a progressive jib ski like that that will perform well, feel free to pm me.

If i can do an edge implant with epoxy and have it hold distastering rails, im pretty sure a counter sunk predrilled screw design would work fine.

flynn is a s-m-r-t guy....i think he knows what he is doing.

you should try that with the laroses though;urbans anyways. you could be on to something.........

replacable might be cool ignoring the fact that it would never perform as good without out added weight/bulk in the ski. removable ones to take off to hit rails and shit is the stupidest idea I've ever heard in my life... where the hell would you put the edges???

dude the edges are part of the construction process....the help hold the ski together.......this mean that you can never have removable edges.....and have a ski that works.

^ Wow not that many people really know what they're taking about. The edge of a ski really is anchored into the base or core.

Edges are not anchored into the base in anyway and do not add to the structural integrity of the ski in any way other than filling the gap between the core and the base material.

Some companies do countersink the edges into the base of the ski a very slight ammount, but never deep enough that it would be impossible to design a ski around have a removeable design underneath the boot.

People that say it is impossible to design a ski with removable edges under the boot need to seriously start thinking outside the box a little bit and develop atleast a slight bit of ingenuity.
