Armada top sheet

Ive ridden my 08 ar6's twice this season and they already look like they have been through a seasons worth of abuse. has anyone elses top sheet been chipping. i know they have had problems with it in the past but thought they had it together this year. i dont know.....

My bluehouse topsheets are getting torn to shit expecially on the tails, theyre not falling apart by any means and the damage is purely cosmetic but I still dont like it.

Mine effin' suck. Used them like 8 times and the topsheets are peeling away so bad. Unlike my chronics which I've used for 3 years and are still in amazing shape.

My friend rides ARV's and his topsheet is chipped as fuuuck. He's pretty pissed off about it, he e-mailed Armada and they said that they didn't think there was much they could do but told him that if it got worse to take some pictures and send them in.

my new scarface t halls are chipping soo bad, grrrr

i clicked my skis together and it tick off a chiclet sized chunk of the topsheet

and any thing that touches them makes a scratch, i swear

i might give armada a talking to

Yup, I've ridden my t-halls mayeb4 or 5 times and they are chippin away reallllll good. Yeah, i hit a lot of rails and stuff, but i jsut feel like these things are getting BEAT...on the other hand i have last years AR6s too and it did the same thing...now they look like theyve been through world war 9 and back, yet still going strong

I hate to be rude, but get over it.

My T-Halls last year chipped. All you do, is if you cared like I did, is epoxy the chips back down. Mine werent that bad, just on occasions i would knick them and a piece would peel up.

Ive been on my Ar6's a day, and the tips and tails are pretty trashed from assholes in the lift line. Its just how Armada's are. The chip. Done.

agreed, it doesnt effect the ski, i just makes it look bad, and dont say it doesnt matter what they look like.

Well when I pay for brand new skis I expect to get a quality topsheet. It's called a quality product. If ipods had a paint job that rubbed off when you used it they would instantly be called out. I wouldn't care as much if it didn't happen after the 3 times I used them. When the 1st layer is showing through the top it not only looks like crap but it can adversely affect the ski. Topsheets are used for more than looks, they are protectants. I have a right to be upset, and if it continues then I'll talk to Armada and they will be apologetic. Am I wrong?

who cares my ARVs are insanely chipped but i dont mind. All my skis have been like this. If its big just put some epoxy in problem solved. No delams or anything

the way armada designed there sandwich construstion makes it pretty much un avoidable unless u put sheet metal on the sides or somethin

i have last years ar6's and they chipped alot but its no biggy, after the edges all got chipped, it stoped cuz nuthin much else gets touched,

but my friend had the fischer addicts form last year thos thigs pealed like no other, he barley even has a top sheet on them just patches of color on wood

mine have peels on the top edge sides, when i first bought them last season i hated seeing a scratch but once many started to appear i got over it and realized that it was only looks and i would enjoy them more if i wasnt always scared for them.

yea armadas are known for topsheet chippping, but the skis stay bombproof

ridden my thalls 7 days, not too bad on the chipping, but more then i would have liked

any ski w/ a sandwich construction is gunna have bad top sheet damage..but armada's performence rules, topsheets suck.

I completely understand, as I have Ar6's and T-Halls and know how badly they chip.

One solution would be to detune your edges, but that may be a huge disadvantage for carving. The other thing to do is not bash your skis together as much.

Other than that, Im not sure what else can be done. Armada is super cool, so if you email them, be very polite and patient. They stand behind their product. They replaced my T-Halls which has an edge poking out, with brand new skis. Who knows, Tyson might do the same for you.

name one sandwich construction ski that doesn't have problems with topsheet chipping. even the cap constructions are shitty.

personally...if u get a park ski u should def get a cap contruction. i have had a few pairs and rode sandwhich and not really any difference and they also take SOOO much more abuse than sandwhich construction.

meh not totally. atleast topsheet wise. my old assassins looked a few seasons old after a weekend. but yeah it depends on a lot

yeah my 07 ar6's are getting chipped too after skiing hard, but i realized that it really doesn't matter what the topsheets are like, and they are going to get chipped up anyway. that is what skis do when you ski hard. also, i took my ar6's into glades, hit a ton of rocks, and came away with one scratch easily fixable by waxing. so, even though the topsheets might be shit, the bases are durable as fuck.

not to be an ass but all those people who hate on line even on this years skis ive ridden my invaders on very shitty snow alot and they have no problems...all park use as well

if you talk to armada that probly wont get you anywhere, all top sheet damage, besides delam, is purly cosmetic.

aramda is doper

how are the lizzies for holding up to top sheet damadge? i just got mine havent used em, and was just wondering how they hold up?

Bought a brand new pair of armada magic j's and they are the worst skis I have ever bought. They began falling apart half way through first season and have only gotten exponentially worse. The skis have a lot of pop and flex to play but the materials seem to be of horrible quality. Research a little deeer before investing in this ski.
