Armada, the whole truth

I have noticed a sheet load of discussion on the boards about armada, and who they will have riding for them, espesily tanner. This is what i have learned directly from the East cost Rossignol sales rep that i talked to today. He confermed that Tanner and Raps have left rossi, and have moved to Armada. He did not know much about armada, calling it a 'dumb move' He said that rossi is looking for riders, all over the country, so get your resume ready. As far as everyone else currently on rossi, are staying for the 03 season. anyway, just thought youd like to know.

yea, but if you think about it, it seams sort of dumb, going from one of the largest ski companys in the world, to one that is just starting up, and doesnt even have any reviews yet. and if this company is going to do twinies only, they probably wont get a tenth the size of rossi. look at line vs rossi. big differance.

 
yea, but rossi is bigger then prolly all snowboard companys, (i think) and its not like a snowboard company is gonna dump shitloads of money into armada. i guess we will have to just wate and see.

 
rossi is a company with mainly race and recreational focus. the difference with Armada is that it is a company made and run by the newschool industry. They wont be wasting there money trying to develope race skis or anything like that. Would you rather be riding for a company that doesnt really give a shit about you, or for a company that will take you seriously and take all you input and put it back into the skis? it makes sense when you think about it. here is a company run by real skiers and they have the financial backing without being controlled by someone who knows nothing about the sport. this is the way the rest of the industry needs to be. World domination is in place.

ohh, i agree totaly, mammothpunks, but top pros (freestyle or race) can request certian caretoristics in a ski and just about any manufacture will build them there own custom board. i personaly would just ride for whos gonna lay down the cash. Just remeber, the man with the most toys, wins. and money buys toys.

 
yeah its not to bad of a move if you factor in the free gorditas for life on their armada/tacobell/nike contract though. plus they all get adds with the taco bell dog. man i cant wait till i buy those libtech skis

 
raps is not on armada...he may have left rossi, I don't know, but your rep must have been mistaken about armada.

armada is going to suck. it will be horrible. laminated peices of poop. bent out paperclips as the edges.

 
pbly got raps and easely mixed up. And another thing, armada isn't shipping skis until december or later. Maybe it will be like igneous and some other companies, that just fade away

Skiing is the easiest to learn hardest to master. Flip that around and you know how snowboarding became so popular, but will never have the potential that skis will ever have.
 
i don't know how much of this is true, so don't quote me. but a friend told me julien was the creator of armada, when rossi found out, they based the scratch off armada skis, and julien is a good friend of the owner of lib-tec, and he's letting julien use the presses. like i said, don't quote me, this is what i was told

Alright I really dont care bought all this but I gots a question. The Scratch is supposedly designed with the input if Tanner, Boyd and Raps.

Last year they (Tanner, Boyd, Raps) were all saying how rossi is pushing it and the scratch is going to be the sickest ski, and they had a hand in developing it and all this shit. And then those 3 leave, after they get what they want from Rossi.

They may have been just hyping up the scratch, I dunno. Rossi builds th ski they want and then they all leave.

Okay everyone needs to stop again. Some of the shit on here is true, MOST is not. Just cool your damn jets for two more days... The website will explain everything, give details as to what kind of skis are being be made and when and where you can get them, that much is fact.

Just deal with not knowing for two more days.

but comparing line to rossignol is wrong, you should compare the twin tips section of rossi to line bbecause i dont think money from the rossi race skis goes into developing better twintips. im probably wrong but thats my thought.

 
Alpine Doesn't rip you off. They sell there stuff at the price where they make some money. So they can go home at night and feed there families. Also Sturtevants is all for show. They arent as friendly.

 
this armada thing is going to be just like snowboarding has been for the last several seasons. A new company comes out, everyone jumps on the bandwagon for the first one or two seasons, then they realize how poorly made the equipment is, and the company goes under. Then everyone goes on to the next new, cool, underground brand that makes crappy stuff. Don't believe the hype! At least not until the stuff has been around for several years and doesn't fall apart. You can't get a warranty from a company that doesn't exist anymore.

 
I think it's a GREAT move. All the pros shouldn't be just with the huge companies, skiing will start to become like Snowboarding, with all the pros preppily hanging out with the largest manufacturors. They need to support what they think is right, and when i'm a pro, i'm gonna definetely support a company that does only twin-tips and is just starting off. It's GREAT!

Its the store clerk for the San Diego Taco Bell that is the team manager. Everyone in Happy Dayz left their sponsors, and all work for Armada now. There will only be two pro skiers now, the Schrabs... The rest of the pros that work for Armada were forced to move to Venezuala to make Armada skis out of bamboo in a small clay hut. Nike is changing it's name to Amanda, so thats where the confusion is.
