Armada skis

is it just me or is armada missing a big category of skis? They have the park/all mountian arv at 95 mm, then it jumps to the ant which is 107 but really long, and the new jj which is 178 and 188 but is rockered and partially reversed sidecut and is 115 underfoot. Are they going to fill in the gap with a smaller ANT ski, or keep the old jj under a new name, or make a new ski that is 100 to 105 under foot with tradtional camber and sidecut?

if your talking about width.....12mm diff isnt shit.

i'd like armada to come out with a fatter park ski tho, like 184 or 185 at about 105mm

(rumor is they are making a ski called the alpha) should be a fatter park ski....or just a lie.

i'm just saying how the don't really have any traditional camber/sidecut fat skis except for the ANT, but the ant is 191, so i was wondering if they were going to make the ANT in more sizes this year, or if they were going to make a new ski that was fat and had traditional characterisitcs, or if they were also going to market the old JJ shape under a new name

12mm is a big difference especially when you add in rocker and partial reverse camber, you can't say that the JJ is similar to the past years, cause it is completely different

Dude I was thinking about the same excact thing.

However Im sure many consider the ARV now the traditional booter ski (at least non-pros like myself and everyone else here ( :)

Think about it. I mean look at Dynastar for God sakes. Even tho they're fattening up a bit, 92 underfoot was their fattest twin last year.

I think we all underestimate just how fast skis have gotten fat. 95 underfoot two or three years ago was unquestionably a pow ski.

It would be awsome for Armada to sell the ANT in like a 185 (I'd buy it) but as their line up is already jacked, I doubt their gonna cover ALL those bases. They dont seem to be a company truly interested in making "all around" skis. My AR6 works great in pretty much every condition except deep pow, but if I really wanted a highly recommended ski like my AR6 for pow, Id probably move to this years JJ's and not the less regarded ARVs. Look at the EL Ray, its cap construction and not as tweaked as their specialty skis. Moral of the Armada story: buy more than one pair of skis.

You're right Armada will not be making anything inthe 98-105 under foot area, if you are skiing a ski in the 180's you have to go from the ARV 185 (95 under foot) straight to a JJ 188 (115 under foot)

with skis like this that are so versitile why do you need that other ski?

Armada does a great job in covering all the bases to make your quiver strickly Armada.

The ANT may be to big for many but that is fine, when you ski a 178, or 188 JJ it rides so smooth you think you are on a smaller ski and don't notice that the 115 under foot might be the fattest ski you've ever been on
