when i bought the ar5 i was planning on skiing them for a few years. but half way through the season im already looking for a new pair of skis. its not that im too hard on the ski i've skied the same 1080's for 3 years and ive had half the problems with those and i slid 1000 times more rails, and crashed a shitload more. i dont know what it is the bases just seem really soft and the edges are really weak. i hate to say it but i think i'm gonna get some trouble makers with my tax return. sorry armada

You could probably warrenty them instead of buying a brand new pair of skis.

try and warrenty them at least. you may even get the new model armadas, which are made by a completely different manufacturer, and are likely to be a much different ski.

I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day
 
i have the ar5's too and the bases are holdin up good and i love how they ride and im riding harder than i ever have. the only thing is that the top sheet is week and is gettin destroyed

tms edges are weaker than armadas so if you want to grind a lot, use old skis or buy other skis

I don't know what peoples perceptions are on skiis but no ski will last forever. If you take one wrong fall and damage a critical component your skiis integrety is gone and it's just a matter of time before they get fuct, there must be 100000 forums on peoples skiis falling apart...that's life, skis will break even the 'almighty aramdas'

Guys think how long Line and Armada and 4frnt ahve been making siis, for like 5 years maybe tops? Maybe longer for line ... but compare that to decades for Rossi, Atomic and Salomon with utli billions dollar companies backing them with top r and d dollars. The armadas are a very very basic ski .. simple sandwich constructioon .. which isn't bad (look at the Scratches) but ROssi knows how to do it right.

buy head, they never fall apart...they are bombproof skis and i weigh in at 180 lbs....never broken never bent, never delammed

the armada is just a scratch bc its pretty much the same design. so get the scratches they are less money if you have to get new skis but try to warranty yours first

rossi is, i've used rossi race skis, twin tips and bandits, they are all awesome, give armada a couple of years, they are just goin through the first season glitchs like line went through

my drinking team has skiing problems
 
mckeeman is right, ive never head problems with heads. K2 also has minimal problems. both my brothers have PEs and have no problems, and no problems thus far with my pistols

Yeah I've used my armadas twice and already encountered delam probs. That and I've done a few grinds and some funky shit happened to the edges that never happened to my 1080s. My 1080's are now 5 years old and the tips popped off but rivets work wonders. They're slow because I never waxed em properly but shit, they held up through the worst midwest iced-flat landings. If my armadas can't hold up this season I'm gonna look into head or the troublemaker... the heads looked like solid ski. But i love my look jib bindings.

 
Dude, just warrenty them man, if somthing is really wrong with them, ARMADA has probably the most forgiving warranty policy running right now.

1080's delam as well....I have delamed 2 pairs( the blue ones and the orange space frames) My Rossi's are doing good. I havent owned a pair of armadas, so i cant talk.

EMC man no one wants to hear what you hear, saying that just makes people think 1080's suck when in fact they are awesome skis. all i am saying is use the skis thn gie an opinion.

Freeskiing kills skis, and that is fine. A good ski is not determined by how long it lasts. It is determined by how it skis.

Lately almost all twin tip park skis have been 'marketed' indirectly (word of mouth, etc) as being the next best, most indestructible skis going.

I remember how much discussion there was regarding the Rossi Scratch FS With it's rubberized topsheet and it's supposed 'indestructibility' and I was a snowboarder then for crissakes!!

If you feel they broke prematurely call the store you got them from and ask them to be sent for warrantee evaluation. Going online and telling everyone how pissed you are that they broke does NOBODY any good, it does not get you new skis, nor does it convice others not to get the skis you had.

We have no idea what you were doing when they broke, nor do we really care, as everyone always says (mountain bike term here).. 'I was Just Riding along!!' regarding the nature of the incident.

Your statements might have had some weight in a forum if you had broken more than a single set, in a short span, or if you had been dealt with by the company in a shoddy manner, but you don't even have a clue what Armada might do, as you NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO TRY.

So seriously,

Dont get me wrong, my 1080s are sweet but they really need to LOSE the foam core. After 10-20 times they are now noodles there so soft. Its sad how soft they are when I take off the lip in the pipe I can feel them vibrating a lot. Gets annoying somtimes. I have not tried many rails with them so I cant speak about that. Because of how soft they have become, they also chatter an unbelievable amount if the surface is packed at all. Other than the foam core they have been GREAT! No delaming for me.

 
get some pe the edges are thicker than those of a normal ski. I ski nearly all rails and they have held up great so far!

 
yeah my PEs i got this year the top has a bunch of chips in it.. but its still skiable there really durable just the top gets trashed easy

support the 'core' companies: armada, 4front, line and k2. the more money you spend on their skis now, the better they will be, sooner, in the future. These companies are actully trying to push the new ski construction but they need more money.

 
^yeah right.. Did you know that K2 makes it skis in China? Truelly a 'core' company.
