Has anyone else had this years ARV or other Armada models side walls completely delaminate and blow out? I’ve skid my ARV 106’s for 3 days and they blew out between my 3rd and 4th day up. I’ve also heard the same thing happen to 2 other people. I’m wondering if this is an issue for this years Armadas or ARV line.

That happened on my first gen arv 106 with the yellow bottoms idk why but they replaced with next year's model it did the same thing and that's when I switched to on3p

Always be super chill with their customer service/warranty team and get a new one out of them, before dragging them online.

I’m not trying to drag them, I’m just genuinely curious. Fucking love Armada, I’ll never drag them, I’m just wondering if there’s something going on in the manufacturing process this year for the ARV line

Well u posted it on your story saying it happened on a groomer.. not a good look for them so it’s kinda like dragging them.

Instead, Play nice, and play dumb with their customer service team. Show em proof of purchase along with Something like “I saved up all my money to get these, and now I’m not sure how to fix them, I was only riding a groomer, nothing crazy like grinds” bcs truth is, you are probably in the right, that really shouldn’t have happened, and its most likely a defective ski… you just gotta change your approach my guy.

The 106 still uses the AR75 sidewall construction which seems to have been problematic for a while. That's why they produced wedgewall for the new models. I'm sure it'll get updated soon

That’s was someone else’s story I screenshotted, I’m basically sucking the warranty persons dick in my email right now

I've had sooo many issues with one year on armadas with sidewalls and edges over the years. Still on them I love them but.......

I know what you're saying. 1 year I said! I get it but.... my ski season is only January and February and I only get to ski 6-8 hours a week so not so much time

I haven’t had any issues with any past Armada setups, and I know that last year they had a couple issues with their sidewall. It’s just really weird how many of these sidewall blowouts after just a couple weeks into the season I’ve heard of

Eh sometimes companies change manufacturing plants or in armadas case get bought by a mother company, so I’m not sure if the way they get pressed this year versus years past but I’ve always blown my sidewalks out, just can’t get over how nicely they ski. Also I’m extremely hard on skis, go through 5/6 pairs a season n every year it’s same deal blown out sidewalls. The new 106s next year incorporate a new sidewall to help deal with blow out, but looks like you might’ve just gotten a poorly pressed pair. ?

bro, I only rode mine for 1 hour and they already blew up. Sure I was slamming them against rocks but THEY SHOULD HOLD UP TO LONGER TIME PERIODS!

I can't find the review now, but the girl who did the roofbox review of the ARV 100 had the exact same thing happen.

What was their reason for denial?

“extreme over-stress” even though i haven’t hit an actual jump, haven’t had a bad crash, and i’ve the biggest trick i’ve thrown on a rail was a 2 out on a flat bar like one foot high

if you think that hitting a small flat bar at most 10 times can delam a ski not even at the edge but where it was pressed you were dropped as a kid. grown ass man trolling on ns and making youtube videos about “pissing” on potatoes with pipe cleaners and googly eyes. get a fucking job

Lol he’s about to destroy you

I know I'm a little late to the party here but Armada has had sidewall issues going back to the AR7 days. My old AR7's completely blew apart at the sidewall when they were using the AR50 sidewall construction. Something with the semicap construction has just never seemed to work well, as you can see in the photos it usually fails where the cap is meeting the sidewall. Conversely I have full length sidewall skis and they are infinitely more durable not to say that there haven't been instances of those blowing out on other skis but I've definitely seen and heard similar stories of armada's delaming at the sidewall.

As far as the warranty goes you shoulda checked out the warranty thread before you submitted a claim.

Some of us actually hit rails man

since all skis are basically the same construction... if armada's don't work, can someone explain to which brand does? lmao

Not all ski construction is the same actually. Each manufacturer uses different types of wood in their ski core to give different flex patterns. There's also differences in sidewall construction, whether its cap, semi-cap (which armada uses) or full length. And no ski is meant to be slammed into rail and shit. A more stout ski like ON3P or moment, even skis like the enforcer and unleashed from nordica (because they have metal in them), and anything from Fatypus, will be more durable overall and stand up to abuse over time. Not to say they wont take damage. Start by looking at smaller brands who are going to focus on quality over quantity. I love armada, I want to cop a pair of dollos, but with all the sidewall issues popping up of late I'd rather invest my $700 elsewhere

that was a long post to say all skis are made the same way essentially.
