Armada screwed me over

^ you know nothing about business. I equate this to dell changing there customer service to India and loosing much of their market when people became frustrated dealing with someone you cant understand. That one employee fucking up by being a bitch most likely will cause the OP to never buy their skis again. It would have been no skin off his back trying to fix the problem. Customer service and experience is one reason consumers become repeat buyers.
 
why are some people on this site so god damn ignorant. You have absolutely no idea how he talked to the Armada rep. I'm sure he was decently nice and reasonable to him, and I'm also sure they get several calls similar to this one . I would be fucking pissed too if my armada's broke after just a few weeks or days of riding on them. Sure skis break, but people still deserve the product they paid for.
 
You're a grade A fool. No where did he say he was whining and crying and no matter how he had handled it you probably would have said the same thing. So grow the fuck up.
 
That is why a dick like yourself doesn't work in customer service.

The Armada rep should never have hung up on a client. If the customer is being rude the rep should have offered the phone to his superior or co-worker to calm the client down. That being said when calling a company you want something from you should always be polite, reasonable and calm.

Nevertheless, the guy who broke his ski voided his warranty the moment he hit a rail. It can be argued tht the rail damage contributed to the breaking of the ski.... should he get a new pair yes, is he entitled to a new pair, no.

My advice is to hit up the retailler you bought your Armada from and politely ask for help, because they have better leverage than he would have on his own.

 
the reason i posted this wasn't for you guys to tell me if i can warranty it or not, i posted it to make people think twice before they drop 600 dollars on a ski that brakes off a 5 foot jump like i did. Honestly every reason you guys get to hate you do it. Try saying some of this shit to people in real life and see what happens.

Screw Newschoolers, it use to be awesome but in the last 2 3 years its gotten full of cocky rich kids that think there the shit, some of you just need to get your head fucking kicked in.

You do realize you're the only one "talking shit", right? You seem mad because a lot of people agree that you broke your skis and it isn't Armada's fault at all. Continue to whine and cry about this, you won't get new skis. Armada is by far one of the most legit and core companies in the ski industry.

You seem to be one of the very few people to have problems with the durability of your Armadas, so telling everyone that their hard earned money is going to be wasted because the skis will break, and then making baseless generalizations is pretty ignorant and stupid. If you feel that my teeth should be kicked in, feel free to come visit.
 
Well it is clear why you didn't get a courtesy pair of skis from Armada....

Just because some guys reacted poorly to your post doesn't mean you have to go on a tirade....like some gangsta wannabe punk kid....oh wait you have become the very thing you hate...goodgod man do chill out....or at least get your mom to come post for you (reference to the fact you had your mom call Armada for you...weak man weak).
 
Sidenote: skis do break sometimes....most of us have broken a few....sometimes it is due to use and sometimes defect. However the real measure of a company is how they react to such occurances. Shit happens especially when you accidently land backseat hard....work through your obvious anger issues...and next time you ask a company for help they might feel inclined to give it to you. Peace little man
 
honestly guys, his claim was pretty reasonable. i just read the entire thread and it seems like people come here and post in hopes of a genuine discussion. unfortunately some people feel the need to talk shit for no apparent reason, which really sucks because it totally throws everything off. he got aggravated by a couple of jerk-offs and now he's pissed and saying a bunch of stupid shit. i personally feel for the kid. i mean, if i got a new pair of armadas and they fell apart in a couple weeks, fuck that would really suck. i'd have to be honest about the abuse i put them through. i think he IS entitled to a new ski, and yeah armada shouldnt hang up on their customers. furthermore, regardless of whether he was rude on the phone or not, where does the rep. get off telling him exactly HOW he broke his ski. that doesnt make too much sense. bottom line, give the kid a break and stop talking shit.
 
Ruskian you are absolutely right. This poor guy is getting alot of flak. However, when people start talking about wishing harm on others I.e getting teeth knoked in...etc well then the thread is degraded and the genuine discussion goes out the window....frankly there are no real excuses for that kind of bullshit.

Moment warrantied my snapped skis in a sec because I found a flaw in the ski and I was helping them fix it by showing them.

I'd be pissed about the skis too, but the comment that I was referring to in my post (the one that you quoted) was the one about little dicks and balls and tight jeans or something. There's no need for that, and makes him seem like a punk ass little kid, which is basically what I said. I tried to make a serious post earlier in the thread, but then the kid started running his mouth, which makes me question his entire story about the rep in the first place. For the record, I've dealt with Riley through email before regarding some JJs, and he responded within a day, and was very nice and helpful, so I don't know what the fuck this kid is talking about.
 
Just because Riley helped you out in a given circumstance, doesn't mean he's going to help everyone out in the same manner. Maybe Armada is tight on cash right now, or doesn't have the proper product to replace the OP's skis with. There's a world of variables that coincide with what you get from customer service.

I will say it is inexcusable to hang up on a customer for what could potentially be a valid claim on a broken ski. Judging by the way the ski appears, he did land back seat. On the same note I've landed backseat plenty of times and never had a ski break on me like that.

For the OP, if you get nowhere with Armada, see if there's anything a shop can do to potentially repair it for you. I know a few people with metal plates holding their skis together.

Still....If he has ever touched a rail he has voided warranty, outrageous yes, but true nonetheless. Should he get a courtesy replacement? If Armada wants to make him happy and maintain good pr then absolutely.

Still...it is a little tough to believe he landed a five foot jump and it broke, and it is even less likely that he never land backseat ever.....It is likely that the booter was built up five feet high and the lauchend it 40 feet and landed backseat and snap....Then there is the intense outburst, clearly unable to contain his anger....all this undermines his credibility.

Still there is no excuse for wishing violence on other NSers.....unacceptable

Looks to me that you took an already rockered ski and landed backseat (and/or rode around backseat) repeatedly which caused the ski to rocker more...
 
Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with Armada.

I have never had an issue with a single pair of Armadas (that's all I ride) and know a lot of friends, including myself, who have been nothing but stoked on all their products.

Their customer service has also been stellar. They have over nighted me packages before for free.

Honestly your situation sounds very rare. I have always heard all around great things about the company and customer service.

Unfortunately skis sometimes break for silly reasons. It's a bummer it didn't work out, but I can assure you this isn't normally how things go down with them.
 
OP, if you talked with the rep like you "talk" on here then I can almost understand the rep hanging up on you, you appear to be a whiny little bitch. Just because your ski actually snapped when you landed the "5 foot jump" doesn't meen that the damage was actualy done by it. Are you not telling us about the 40 foot cliff that you backslapped the shit out of 20 min before, snapping your core but causing no VISABLE damage? I have more to say but I'll save it.
 
In my mind at this point it isn't really an issue that the ski was broken, it's that the customer service rep lost his cool and hung up. Lets all be honest with each other, customer services job is not to fix the problem, it's to take it up the ass from customers as hard as possible. They exist purely to act as a verbal punching bag. Only after the customer busts a massive rage nut are they supposed to give the phone to a supervisor to resolve the issue.

That being said, a trained customer service rep (I assume a company like Armada TRAINS their CSR's) isn't going to lose their cool if the customer is calm and collected. After seeing how quickly the OP went into rage mode after being questioned by people on this site, I'm going to assume that he tried to pull the typical cocky teenage bullshit "I'm the expert and not you" card and got under the guys skin, causing him to hang up.

tl;dr- Not cool that customer service dude lost it and hung up, but I'm guessing that OP was a pissed him off and got what he deserved.

Side note: It would be interesting to hear Armada's side of the story

And to those who skis haven't broken GREAT!!! I'm glad they haven't, but guess what!! mine did. And i do know 1 other pair of alpha 1 that have snapped and a pair of alpha 2 that both skis decontaminated within 2 days of skiing them.

You guys just love the internet eh? place were you guys can act tough and hate every chance you get. Everytime i see a newschooler in public they look like a bunch of goofs that are wearing dresses, but hey if you wana rock that go ahead and do your thang.

And thank you to the people who understand why im pissed off at all these people. I hardly ever post on here, i just use it to keep updated with skiing news and see reviews on products.

haha this was exactly what i was thinking. this would be super good to know. I would just ask for a new pair just from the customer service problems. i would just say that you were just trying to figure out the warrenty or some shit like that. and then say that he was being a dick the whole time and all you wanted was to figure out if theres something they could do for you. You can always explain in more detail over email. this way, you will hopefully get a reply, from a reliable email address. try to explain where your coming from and how like you dont have a pair to ski on.
 
I'm 6'3 so i need bigger clothing to fit me better. I'm far from spoiled, I'm dirt poor. My mom cant even afford to buy me clothing so i work my ass off all year to save up to buy ski stuff and clothing or what ever else i need.

Unlike most of the kids on ns i dont come from some well off family, i got a really fucked up life.

And yeah i have fucked with the wrong person, but i dont talk shit around here... where im from you look at someone wrong that knock you out. Guess what i did, i looked at the kid for 5 seconds because he was staring me down then i got stomped and mased.

And please tell me what have i whined about?

You know, I just warrantied a pair of EP Pros, same thing, but in the nose. One ski had more rocker at the tip. It looked like it warped though, not really broken. But I was polite, TALKED TO THE SHOP WHERE I BOUGHT THEM and got a warranty claim filed through them. I DID NOT GO DIRECTLY TO LINE.

My warranty was honored, and I would even say that EVOGEAR (the shop were I bought them) did way more than they needed too, they are friggin awesome.

So, talk to the shop you bought them from! Armada will be much more inclined to listen to one of their dealers than "just some kid".

And I guess a question for Big L:

In the picture, it looks like you snapped the core at the rear binding screws. Do they have multiple mounts? And what is the DIN set at?

By the looks of it, you split the core lengthwise, like opening up a sandwich. Did the core split, or is the top glass torn away from the core?
 
I actually ordered it from evogear and i sent the skis to them and they sent the skis to Armada.

The ski snapped under the binding witch cause the binding to be pushed off the ski and 2 of the screws slightly lifted out, witch is where you see the wood showing.

And my din was just recently set to fit my weight from the shop i mounted it at, witch is around 7 and i weigh 170 175ish. Also the bindings are 3 years old so they tend to release often since i the spring has worn down

Also the ski did not totally snapped, the core inside snapped but not where you see it ripped out, it snapped inside the ski like it would if i jump on a 2 by 4 and it slightly cracked in the middle.
 
But actually, after reading the rest of the thread... I have concluded that Big L is an immature ass-hat. That is probably why Armada did not warranty his skis.

Sounds like you have a lot of anger in you right now. From your previous posts, to you getting expelled from school, i can only assume that you have some acting out issues. Just know people dont respond well to you when you become aggressive; people are much more inclined to be helpful, and sympathetic is you are nice, rational, and polite.
