ski snapped off 5 foot jump and they wont warranty it, when i went

to called him he assumed it was a really bad crash blaming it on me

when didn't even crash and when i tried to explain he hung up on me,

then hung up on my mom... So we tried to call back and talk to somone

else but he picked up, and then hung up on us when we asked for the

manager and finally after calling him 4 times we got his bosses name.

The whole time he was a dick to me and my mom, Armada sucks.

Also the skis only had about 13 days on them

not to rail on aramada or anything, but I had second gen ar5s, they got fucking owned by rails (from day 1 the edge ripped out even with a pre-rail hitting massive detune and all that shit), and some rep in whistler said to me: "you must have railed and abused the shit out of these" and I said "no, they just suck" and that was the last pair of armadas I ever bought. Arrogant bitch.
All skis will have their issues. Just sounds like you ran in to a primo douche.

you said it yourself, they got owned by rails. therefore, he was correct in saying that you must of railed them, and broke them. which you did. stfu stupid kids

i believe that voids the warranty right there. they won't give a fuck about anything that isn't strictly a factory defect.

First off this seems very one-sided by your description. You broke your skis by abusing them and you expect Armada to just give you new skis? I'm sure if you read their warranty policy they'd probably say they only cover manufacturer defects. Unfortunately hitting jumps isn't a defect. Quit your bitching and realize that skiing jumps and rails tend to break skis, even if it is only a five foot jump.

Well I can't comment on the customer service, but armada ski's in my opinion are top-knotch. I haven't had a problem with either my AR6's or JJ's, and my Ar6's have held up to all sorts of battering.

i agree completely i love my alpha 2s and they are holding up great from some pretty gnarly landings. i don't know but my guess is either theres something wrong with the ski or the way you fell was wonky. good luck either way armada is one of my favorite companies and i hope they do you right.

both companies have no legal obligation to give you new skis cause you hit jumps and rails to break them and that voids the warranty
in other news armadas have always been bombproof in my experience

well if every pair of skis is made the exact same then there couldn't possibly be a manufacterer defect, so maybe his skis were made bad and that made them bend really easily when he landed? which would be a manufacturer defect wouldnt it?

I'm still rocking the 07-08 AR6s. Things are fucking bombproof. Only problem is major topsheet chipping, but it's only cosmetic, and happens to all skis. I love my skis and will definitely be purchasing Armadas in the future. Sounds like you just fucked something up bad on that jump or maybe had a dud ski. Sucks about the dude on the phone though, he kinda sounds like a dick.

dang, well from the aggressiveness of his post he seems like he'd be pretty unpleasant to deal with. and if that's true that a five foot jump falls under the category of 'abuse,' then that's the most unrealistically limited warranty policy i've ever heard of. good luck to the op; hope this customer gets some service.

Are you retarded? Its a park ski, designed to be ridden in the park. I wonder what types of things they put in parks these days.... YOU GEUSSED IT jumps and rails. I realize that almost no companies warranty rail damage, but i have heard of armada doing this. But a ski snapping? These definately deserve a warranty. I have broken three pairs of skis this season, and all three of them have been warranteed. All the skis were defects or weere broken on jumps. @ op- take these to your closest armada dealer, they should get you on your way to a new pair of skis.

perhaps my phraseology wasn't the most coherent. Put it this way, after 2 hours, I was missing 4 inches of edge.
Before I used the skis, I used a hand file to round out the edges underfoot, reducing friction and a lot of negatives that comes with that i.e. cracks and edge pull outs. Can't avoid it over years of use, but it usually helps over say a season of riding.
So Day 1, shit more like Day .25, as mentioned, big ol chunk on one ski gone. No major impact rails (it was early season), no core shots, nothing, just fucking shitty ass thin edge and bond allowed that fucker to rip free.
By a week in, the other ski was now having edge rip out. The other ski was already beyond fucked. By a month in, they were missing 50 inches of edge combined.
This was not a case of skier abusing skis on rails. Sure, rails will damage skis. I've damaged and broken more than I can count. But this was systemic of shoddy ski construction, and then the rep acted, without any context, that I was abusing the skis by doing rails - well shit, they are advertised for rails. Once I gave him the context, he was even more condescending to me, as if the AR5s were bombproof. That is the story, fucker.

Wow, what is with all the teaming up with Armada crap going on in here?
First of all, the skis should be covered under warranty; that is a men's ski and a kid of his age (sounds young bc his mom called) shouldn't be able to snap them period, especially not off something that small. Second, hanging up on your customers is horrible customer service. If this is true then it is completely unacceptable. Granted we don't have both sides but I see way too much of people just assuming that ski companies are always in the above doubt. If they are indeed dicks, they should get called out on it.

Fuck yea he should, last time I checked Armada markets to park and pipe skiing, therefore they should be expected to perform for much longer time frame then what this kid delt with. Thats like saying speeding in your new sports car is abusing it- what the fuck else would you do with park skis?? I snapped a pair of Coreupts in 4 days and NO questions asked mailed me new parks skis already mounted to my specifications in less than a week thats hope it should be!

just to clearify , just because you break your shit doesn't mean your entitled to free shit, but you are entitled to great customer satisfaction

My friends AR7's somewhat started delam, but the shop fixed it and that's the only problem he had with em.

On a side note, get Moments!

lol at people freaking out if a ski company doesn't cover a non manufacturers defect

get bent
oh and wrong forum

Ok no thats it I am so fucking tired of the ski industry hiding behind this argument of "non manufacturers defect". I will agree that rails and jumps damage skis, However Armada and the rest of the ski industry have been building park specific skis for over a decade. If a customer buys park skis, for jumps and within a couple days they snap off a 5 foot jump OBVIOUSLY there is some sort of manufacturing defect. Shouldn't Armada feel obligated to inspect their product if it breaks likes this? This is BULL SHIT if armada wants to pride themselves as a reliable, core ski company then building skis snap on a 5 foot jump. I hope Armada realizes that by standing behind this as a "Manufacturing Defect" they are saying they have regard for the consistency of their skis quality. /rant
I mean to not even look at the ski, or consider that maybe it wasent made properly? FUCKING BREAUCACY!

this is why I will never get skis anywhere but backcountry.com.

full lifetime warranty is where its at.

lolz at the people who think I work for Armada. I do stand behind Armada and their products. I've beat the shit out my Alpha 2's for the past two years and they've held up great. I've hit thousands of rails and jumps, no edge cracks and no snapping of tails. Just by reading how this kid sounds, I'd hang up on him too because he'd most likely be complaining about breaking his skis that didn't have a defect. The kid already said he rode them a good amount of time, don't you think if they had a manufacturer defect they'd of broke the first few times he hit a jump? I will say that if Armada did truly hang up on him and his mom that is poor customer service. From my experiences with Armada they've been nothing but awesome. Then again I'm not some whiny bitch...

Get your shop to do it. Or any Armada dealer. Someone who knows how to talk to people on the phone.

I was never once aggressive towards him, and he accused me of having a big crash compared to a car hitting a tree.. He also said non of the pros have broken this ski so i must have done something really bad to break it because if pros haven't broken it i couldn't have. My friend also bot armada alpha 2s and within 3 days both tips delamed.

It just pissing me off that he had the nerve to hang up on me 3 times in a conversation and then refuse to let us talk to anyone else but him, the guy acted like he was 12. And honestly when you sell a park ski that brakes for no damn reason on snow, not rails... then you should warranty it.

Impact damage caused by rocks, stumps, dumpsters, parking lots, rails or any other contact with a surface different than snow.

right from the armada warranty site

i'm 16 and my mom called after he hung up on me because i was almost positive he would do it again if i tried to call.

And Riley is who i talked to

His side of the argument was qoute " Nathan: So you are ASSUMING i broke my skis from a really bad crash or landing that is = to a car hitting a tree. Riley: that is correct"

What kind of warranty thinks since pros haven't broken any pairs of these skis that i couldnt have and therefor wont warranty them

you sound very much like youre 16 and entitled. Shoulda been nicer, and initially should have very politely explained exactly what happened. If he says you broke them, and its not the skis fault you like to land way backseat, tough.

Putting your mother on the phone probly didnt help as im sure she was anything but kind and understanding at that point.

If you keep arguing the same points over and over, and his answer is the same everytime, you just sound extremely whiny and really fucking annoying.

Its shitty, but sometimes you just hit the ski just at the right angle in the right spot, and boom, broken ski. theres not much you can do about it.

I don't land backseat ever... And I was nice at first, he hung up on me when I tried to explain my side of the storie. I didn't put my mom on the phone she insited to phone them back because she felt I wasn't asurtive enough, when she called he was just as rude and hung up.

even if the ski was my fault witch I don't think it was I mean surface even warrantys snapped skis and they have a shitty warranty. Its the fact they hung up on us 3 times and refused to let me talk to his boss, shitty customer service

what's with everyone on newschoolers trying to hate on people? What your dick feels to small in your 100 dollar tight jeans and you need to hate on other kids online because your balls are to small to do it in reall life?

idk. its hard to believe that the guy was that much of an asshole without some provocation from you or your mom.

i would like to hear armadas side of the story. unfortunatly if you were a dick to the guy, he is still gonna get in trouble because you just had to go advertise it to a large concentration of their customers.

I would really like to hear the other side of the story

I use to work as a telemarketer number one rule was never ever hang up on a customer even if he is rude,. If we did we would get fired on the spot

Lolque? Shut the fuck up. You sound like a whiny, 16 year old bitch who needs his mommy to fight his battles for him. Why don't you let her post next time? Maybe she can set everyone straight.
