Armada JJ or K2 Hellbent

hey i am a little guy 120 pounds and i am 5 ' 4" and growing fast... i was wondering which would be a better ski for me. i am an agressive skier and was wondering what you all though would be the best for me??

THANKS

Well from my experience theyre pretty quick edge to edge. Another good one for you would be the line sir francis bacon

Where are you skiing, what are you skiing, any park? Do you care how they ski on groomers? Give us some more info about what you are lookign to get out of your skis.

I ski the JJ. I love them. They are my only ski. I used them in Summit County, CO. They were so sick in the pow and I could really carve hard on the groomers. I am 5ft8in 150.

i would like a playful pow ski that is rockered, and still will work just skiing back from the backcounrty...... i have heard mixed things about the Hellbents for a little guy like me but they seem like a sweet ski.... but the JJ seem awesome also but i can't find any cheaper ones?????

I went to me local dealer and talked him down to $500 for last seasons ski (I also bought them last season new, in October). Just go to each store and try to nicely talk them down a bit. Someone will bite and do it for you. I used the JJ on the groomers just messing around all season.

Im same height, but like 110lbs. I have 169 Bents, and love them. they are super fun to ski, rip pow, and are overall an awesome ski. My friend is the same size as you and has JJs. He loves them as well. I would say if your skiing switch a fair amount, ski deep pow, and landing in pow switch, get hellbents. if you want something a little more versatile, but something that still rips pow, get JJs. If you want to just ski hard, get the JJs. If you want to hit booters a lot and also ski bigger lines, get hellbents. both are awesome skis tho. cant go wrong with either one.

when I bought mine they were current year. Just go haggle like your at a car dealership. You will be amazed what places will actually haggle. LOL my father does it all the time at BestBuy.

Sorry bout the double post, but i had another idea. If you want something in between the Hellbent and the JJ, you should look at the ON3P Caylor-lighter than the hellbent, a little bit thinner, a little stiffer (Bents are really soft btw), but without the reverse sidecut of the JJs. Just one more option. and they are on presale for way cheaper than this years Hellbents or JJs.

Ur just hearing that from some racer. They arent as good as the JJs, and are a little hard to get on edge, and they chatter (apparently, i dont even notice) but they are fine.

hey im 5,6 130 pounds and want a pow ski the can ski groomers and maby a few jumps and i got a few questions if you guys could please anwser

1. what ski jj, shotgun, helbents, czars, line ep pro, any suggjestions?

2. what bindings to get?

3. What size ski to get?

thx guys

for snoqualmie we get a lot of crud and heavier snow so the jj would be a perfect ski. JJ is the perfect alpental snoqualmie ski. Hellbents would be good to if you are just skiing like 70 % pow and 30% groomed.

This is my friend with JJs. and I have my hellbents mounted 4 back from center, and it works great. And to the other guy, the czars arent really in the same category as the EPs, Hellbents, or JJs. They arent rockered at all in the tail, are pretty stiff, and are way skinnier. in my opion, they arent very much fun to ski either. if you want a charging ski that is still a fat powder tool, get chopsticks. they stomp cliffs like nobodys business.

hey bro i think if your a good agressive skier go with the bigger ski..... hey does anyone know where i can find a cheap pair of JJ i have looked everywhere and have had no luck used or new?? thanks

I understand the desire to help this kid, but by entering ON3P into the mix you're only making the decision harder for him. The thread title is clear: "Armada JJ or K2 Hellbent?" It doesn't say "Recommend A New Pair of Skis."

That's not to mention the fact that I sincerely doubt that everyone on NS that has suggested ON3Ps to someone else has even ridden them. The level of ON3P-fanboyism here approaches blatant advertisement. That's not to say their skis aren't good -- just make sure you know what you're talking about (and have actually ridden them) before you recommend them. Again, this isn't necessarily directed at you, but to the NS community at large.

I get it, just throwin it out there because it seems like something with characteristics from both the JJ and Hellbent-might be his perfect ski. dont know though. I vote Hellbents. My favorite ski, except top sheet quality is absolute shit.

my little cousin was in this perdicament earlyer this year he really wanted the jj s but the problem was they didnt make them under 170 ... the jjs are alot stiffer under the foot than the bents... my little cousin is about 100 pounds and 5 '0" he ended up going with the 169 bents which i think was a better choice because they are a more playfull ski than the jjs.. i have a pair of bents and Fucking adord them they are so sick for skiing switch on deep days and they are tanks in the crud... havent skied the jjs so i cant say much but from what i ve heard they were designed for big mountain charging with a lil stiffer flex ... if you have anymore questions just pm me

dude F**king Huck it i just like got back from 2 weeks at whistler and it was tight.... i have yet to ride dothie but it looks tight yeah bro we should ride it sometime. do you go to PCFC with sam?

i rode the jjs this season and they were easily the best ski ive ever ridden. there awesome for charging slahing and i felt like they were super agile in the park

U are sooo fucking lucky. 2 weeks at Whistler...but yea, PCFC. and Sam isnt that good at biking, he uses my old Karpiel. Hes learning quick tho.

haha yeah i kinda suck at dh and drops and jumps but i am learning as derek (F**k it Huck it) said..... I am a lot better on skis though haha.
