Armada JJ mounting point

Im 6', 155 and have ridden the 185 JJ for 2 seasons now. Currently, they are mounted at the factory recommended 5 back. Ive gotten the feeling as of late that the ski lacks in variable conditions, and I am constantly finding myself backseat, struggling to link turns the way I want when I hit a hard patch. Im considering moving the bindings to around 2.5 back to put me a bit more forward and make the ski more responsive.

Does anyone else have the ski mounted there, or have any recommendations. I know the JJ isn't the best in variable snow and hard crud... Just looking to improve the performance if I can.

Don't ride JJs, but quite a few guys mount at -2.5 and seem pretty happy there. I wouldn't suggest going much further forward than -2.5 just because of the ski's funky shape.

why don't ride jj's????!!

Yes ride JJ! I have rode 4 pairs over 7 years. Mounted them all over and I have actually liked them at just in front of recommended, -4 back. When I had them at -1 I thought it was to squirely on the hardpack but rocked switch in pow. 2.5 was still squirely but better on hard pack and recommended wasnt bad but didnt like riding switch that far back. I felt just moving it up a bit made it better all around. Hope that helps

Hes saying he doesn't personally ride them, not that anyone shouldnt ride them.

Haha thanks for clearing this up. Sorry OP, I wasn't very clear, I meant I myself don't ski on JJs. What you ski on, that's up to you, feel free to strap whatever you want to your feet.
