Armada JJ - good choice?

About me/my skiing:

-5'6"

-145 - 150 pounds

-Been skiing park for about a decade and skied before that as well.

-I'm an east coaster, so I truthfully haven't had much pow skiing experience.

-What I HAVE done (both east and west) makes me sure I need pow skis.

I currently have AR7's, and I'm looking for another pair of skis to use mostly for trips out west, and east coast pow days.

I want something that almost feels/rides like a park ski, but is designed for pow. Something fun, light, playful, etc.

Looking at the 175 Armada JJ's... good decision or no?

Ehh. im not a fan of them. Too squirrely at high speeds, and more directional than i think you are looking for.

If you are looking for a fat park ski look at the 4frnt YLE.

How fat do you really want to go?

Hey, im a little bigger than you, but also have ar7s and ski the east coast for most of my season and wanted exactly the same thing. I got the magic j's and i love them. They are really playful and a great option at the opposite end of the spectrum so i use those for pow/out west and ar7s the rest. Oh and they are great in the spring slush.

Sorry to dub post but i ski in mass. Most of the time as well. You can find some killer deals on the magic js from past seasons and they havent changed in the past 3 or 4

Another idea could be benchetlers.

if you want the jj you should get the magic j. It is like a more stable but still playful jj with better graphics

i bought my JJ's from a rep in 2013, havent ridden the 2.0's but the modifications pretty much addressed the only issues i ever had with the JJ.

I still ride my JJ basically every day unless i'm strickly doing a spring park day. They rip the entire hill and are the greatest thing ever in pow. when riding pow you feel like your on a pair of park skis, so much fun.

get them. or buy my JJ's so I can mount my magic J's. HA

I only ski mine in 6+ inches of new snow. Variable snow performance is lacking compared to a lot of ski imo, but I LOVE them in the right conditions. They are ideal for tight tree skiing in fresh snow. If you are not going to be doing a lot of that get something else.

This. They are great for what they are made for....but lack the versatility that a lot of other skis have...which I'm guessing you would want a versatile ski if you are taking it on trips out west.
