they have a really bombproof new topsheet, saw them yesterday. considering buying them, but how do u think theyll go for everyday whistler conditions. (soft snow, chopped, pow, park, groomers, small ice, big drops). cheers
I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about the JJ, it sounds like the sickest ski on the market at the moment and i'm definitely getting a pair. I don't think you'll be disappointed in the slightest if you buy em
cheers guys, (+k) ive heard some even more promising reviews about them and the dude at the shop said that have a lot more durable base and edges for 2010. so u should be alright to taake em on a few rails here and there
I hear some new things about the JJs here.. I am getting this years JJ's but next years get better topsheets, bases and edges?? What is better about them?? But how are this years topsheets, bases and edges?? Not bad right?? I wont be taking them on rails, will only use it for bc stuff..
+ karma for those who have the right info.. thanks
Edges are still 1.7 for next years and the base is still the 50/50. The only thing that changes is the core from a Ultra Light to an Ultra Light/ Hybrid core and the new top sheet wich is a textured top that feels like corse grit sandpaper with out the grit to it.. Kinda cool but it doesn't hold stickers...
and the are a bad-ass ski. The only ski I ski now.. Even for groomers on days that its straight crud or coral.. a every-day go-to ski!
The JJ simply rips. Tight turns or big mountain...um buy a pair..really. I picked these skis up at the beginning of the season from the advice of trusted friends, the local shop and an Armada rep. I was looking for a 1 ski quiver and could hardly believe that 115 under foot could really pull it off for all conditions, especially ice. Let me tell you, they dominate in all conditions from pow, mank, crud and groomers. The only place they dont "shine" is on the ice, but really, what fat ski really does and are you really going ski when there is no fresh snow. The best ski I have ever skied and highly recommended.
I'm a 58 yr old telemark skier. I have these in a 185, mounted boot center over the mounting mark with Scarpa Ecos and Axl bindings. I'm in Utah. I use these skis for everything out here. They are just great in all conditions we see out west. Back east, probably a different story. I haven't tried them on alpine gear, but if you're thinking of getting them for telemark skiing, you'd be insane NOT to get them.
