Armada is now made by head

ive been running armada since day one. every year their skis/ skiline has improved. since May of last season ive been on 07-08 THalls and they're so solid and mad fun to ride even out of park.

Armada blew up anyhow, hense thier success as a "core company". theres no question the quality level of these skis no matter what factory thier produced in.

Also i dont think its thier team that sells, image mabey, but you need that as a company. nowadays there are more thall haters than supporters, jp is in inspiration to older skiiers, and tj had one epic season. also its been the same "pro team" since they started. though i am stoked on the "regional team".

I just noticed something...Its not because your armadas were in a head box that they were MADE by head...maybe the seller just wanted to recycle his boxes...?!

I think you are most likely wrong. Pretty sure the guy who created this thread works in a ski shop. So why would a shops entire stock of Armadas be shipped in Head boxes? Because they were made in the Head factory. Pretty sure when I looked at last years Armadas in shops they had Atomic stickers on the actual skis, correct?

Here's the good word on this subject.

The cap skis (Fleet Series/ARG) are made in one factory specifically chosen by their ability to satisfy Armada's material, workmanship and end product performance specs and standards. Head boxes indicate their manufacturer is Head.

The ABS Sidewall skis are constructed at a separate facility where, they too, meet Armada's material, workmanship and end product performance specs and standards.

Armada will continue working with the highest-qualified manufacturers in their specific fields of expertise.

What's today's lesson:

Let the product speak for itself. Get on a pair of those fleet skis if you're unsure and do a demo. Demo before you buy and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

actually they are made in the pale factory with surface and ninthward. armada must have purchased some boxes from head or something.

not necessarily true. ski companies very commonly have multiple factories making their skis. for example, 4frnt had production at the elan factory, a tunisian factory, and another factory for this year's skis.

can some one outline the history of armada. were they ever 100 percent rider(free style) owned. i wasnt to amped to find this out.

The capped Armada fleet series are made in the Head factory. the sandwich constructed sidewall skis are made in the Atomic factory.

Heres how things work in this industry and the snowboarding industry. Owning a factory is expensive and unless your a massive brand producing alot of skis, it is not a very economical choice to make your own skis. So the bigger companies like K2, Salomon, Elan, Atomic, and Head all have their own factories. Companies like Armada buy factory hrs and have their skis made there. This does not mean that Atomic owns Armada, or Head does either. It simply means that Armada has bought time in the factory to get their skis made there. In the board industry there are alot of small indepents that all get their boards manufactured at bigger companies. The numbers are insane, im not exactly sure what they are, but something like 75% of all of the snowboards are made in 5 factories.

This is bullshit. I just asked them and they said it was not true. He wouldnt say anymore because he called them "private matters".

So where is Heads reverse sidecut reverse camber ski. Pretty sure you need some special presses or molds to make skis like that. Bring it on Head.

i doubt were going to see many changes in the make of the ski and durability and def not in the sick graphics for upcoming years, theyre prob jus doing it for the good business aspects of it

Nah it all makes sense now. Assuming only their capped models are made in Heads factory. I mean who makes a better capped ski than head?

when a company makes skis for another company, doesn't that just mean they are using their presses?

armada already has a sick design, doesn't seem like they would change anything just because they are made in a head factory..

bombproof doesnt mean they are good skis, i was merely talking about the quality of the ski not their durability.

the reason why i said atomic was a shit brand across the board not just refering to their twin tip range is because of the fact they use a cheap foam core in all of their skis besides direct factory stock. maybe you dont know this so i will inform you... foam core = lessened quality to that of wood core but it has a longer life and is more 'bombproof' cause a foam core is likely to crack. also foam is much cheaper and easier to use

the reason why i slammed rossignol, is because over the last few years, their production levels have stept up and they are putting less emphasis on the quality of the ski... many of the shops around my area have stopped ordering them in... A) because of the refunds they have had to make because of a ski delaminating, core shotting etc... and B) the company is demanding to higher prce for shit quality... their higher range stuff is in my opinion still ok... i was just using them as an example of a company will mass produce shit skis for maximum profits.

hows that for trendy homo?

i wasnt sure about armada but i was happy with my ar5 and im proably sticking with em i May Get some Rossi`s but im leading more on Armada

armadas will now have reversible bindings so that you can ride them mid stance, or at all mountain stance!!!!
