Armada Halo

First off, i've used the searchbar and I've gotten most of the information I need, but I'm just making sure I'm making the right decision.

I've just picked up some pivot 14s, and i'm looking to pick up some Armada Halos. I'm 160lbs, 5'11, advanced, and am looking to do purely park with these skis, maybe 5% all-mountain.

I was debating between the 182, and 176 models. I have some experience on longer skis, so I figured there's not much to lose, seeing as the skis are rockered as well.

Any suggestions? +k

I'll also be center mounting these, as i'll be doing only park - is it really THAT bad if it's center?

there a great ski and they so run small the early tip and tail rise and the tip and tail rocker in them so defiantly get the longer ski! and why would it bad to center mount them?

They ski fine at center, mine were mounted true center and it was perfect.

Go for the 182's, the rocker will make it ski shorter and the smaller overall dimensions of the ski will make it very light underfoot. Can't say much about the mounting, but I wouldn't go as far back as -2.5 if your using it solely for park IMO. Maybe pick a happy medium between that and center.

You mount them how you like, there's no reason to mount them center or bit back because someone says so, I mounted my THalls center after having them bit back, but now I like the ski a lot more.So I recommend you mounting them center if you are used to it, I mean I only had like 2cm back, but it felt terrible on the rails.. And Hornbeck rides them center so I think there is nothing wrong with it.

And yes, I said you should not mount them center or back if someone else does. Ironic post is ironic...

Oh and def get longer ones if you are doing jumps. And bit of all-mountain.

The way you mount them really depends on your preference...if you're used to riding them dead center, then mount them that way...whatever you feel more comfortable with. If you mount them only a few cm back then you won't feel much of a difference. I wouldn't recommend going over 3 cm back from the center...that will start to effect your rail capabilities

I'm 6'1 and ski the 182. Ski even shorter because of the rocker a some people already said. Best ski, hands down. Also, for the mounting question I asked Mike Hornbeck here on NS and he was really friendly, telling me that he mounts his at true center, which I did, too. Have had no problems so far, they ski great!
