I mounted mine dead center, but I ski switch in the park more than regular, so take that into consideration

I have the original Alphas which as really similar to the new Halos. I mounted mine center, but that is because I mount all my park skis center. That is what I like. Try different things and you will eventually find what you like. Everyone is different. It is a balance of what you ride. The is no best way. You will always lose out on something.
Mounting closer to the ski design point will give you more powerful turns and better handling, but you will have more tip weight and length that can be an annoying hinderance on rails and jumps.
Mounting more center will give you better control and feel on rails and jumps, but you will feel more awkward and off balance when trying to carve a really good turn and charge when you ski the mountain.
To me, the little that I lose out on when charging my ski around the mountain (which I don't do a lot anyway with my park skis), is easy to deal with and not a problem for me because I care much more about being center so I can feel the best on rails and park features.

its not a symmetrical ski, so i frankly wouldnt center mount it. having owned a center mounted alpha, i can say they were weird on jumps. u arent in the correct spot in the camber at center. they ski better at the factory recommended -2.5.
having ridden it mounted at both places, i wouldnt reccommend the true center unless u only do rails. there is a reason armada recoomends where they do.

they ski better switch at center than at recommended... just sayin... I hit big jumps switch, I'd recommend mounting center if you're going to be going fast switch...
oh, and on my 182's center mounted I hit 70+ mph, so I don't think it makes them unwieldy by any means...
it's not like they're a powder ski, theres really no good reason to mount anywhere but center if you're skiing park jumps or rails.
all that being said, I thought they were horrendous in the pipe, that tip shape does not handle pipe tranny well at all, especially when things get a bit soft.

Fairly true. Take a center mounted ski and try to hold a hard turn in an aggressive forward stance. It works, but then try it again leaning back a bit awkwardly. You put your weight over the place where the ski was made to turn. You'll see that the ski carves the turn much harder and faster. That is essentially the only downside of center mounting.
