Armada Halo vs Line Mastermind

Im getting a new ski for the winter, and I can't choose between the Halo or the Mastermind.

Seems like the Mastermind and Halo has everything I want, it's light, butterish and they have a low swingweight.

I ski about 95% park and I wanna progress alot this upcoming season. Im looking for a ski that I can learn new trciks on fast, on rails and jumps, and that I can get my tricks around on it easy.

So which is the best between the Mastermind and Halo?

Anybody skied them?

Which one is the lighter?

Which one has the lowest swingweight?

Which one is the most durable?

Which one works the best outside the park?

Thanks alot and +K for good answers.

there bases are extruded which isnt relatively shitty since you sacrifice speed for durability

Bump, thanks... So they aren't really fast? My mountain isn't very steep, so I might need a fast ski...

What if I wax it alot? And what about the halo?

armada is a bomb proof ski, line mastermines on the other hand are shit. My friend has gone through 3 pairs. If you want a ski thats sturdy and has a great race base get the armada alpha 1. GO ARMADA

Yaok.. So don't get the Mastermind... But the alpha 1 is kanda stiff, and not that light....

So my vote is the Halo for sure. What you get with the Halo is a stiffer and more supportive ski with a higher quality build. The Halo gets the Series 7 base which is very durable and glides much better than the extruded base on the mastermind, given that you wax your skis from time to time. Since it is stiffer its much cleaner landing bigger hits but with the EST shape it is super playful and fun when it comes to small jib features and general dicking around. I have to say outside of the park neither ski is one I would strongly recommend but the tight radius of the Halo makes it really nimble. Just remember to size up with the Halo, it skis short and with the EST rocker you get the advantage of extra length for landings without having to fight too much extra weight.

Well why not demo them yourself? All people here can do is tell you

there opions, and there only that opions. You are the only person who

will know if you like the flex, swing weight, sidecut ect ect.

Go with armada.

I have the masterminds. They are super fun. I love em. But not being able to clear jumps on this ski is not worth riding.

Then please explain your icon?

But anyways, I had 09/10 masterminds and they held up. No core shots or edge cracks, just some topsheet damage. They are lightweight. It all depends how much you're willing to spend though. Masterminds are 2/3s the price of Halos. Also remember that the halos have rocker to them, while the masterminds have camber. If you're on the east coast (like I am), there is seriously no need for rocker. I personally would get AR7s instead of the halos. Again, masterminds are really poppy and flexy, I'm not too sure about the slower base, I don't really notice a difference. I can keep up with other skiers no problem. But i'd say it all comes down to what YOU want.

Verdict: Get AR7's

Thanks, think ill go for the Halo. I live in Norway, so pretty much pow and slush! But thanks for ur answers, and +K :)

Masterminds are really nice and soft, but not durable in the least. Had a pair, they lasted 3 months of solid skiing every weekend then I broke a tail. Demo'd halos and they're great. Not as soft, but better on jumps and loads of fun

you'd be allot better off with the halos instead of the masterminds. i've never ridden the halos but the masterminds are damn slow.

Masterminds, well if u like to wax ur skis a lot i guess u could go with them but i sure as heck wouldnt, halos are easiuly and hands down the better ski by far.

I love my masterminds. Really light. If your worried about speed just wax. The durability is amazing.(has lasted me over a year) My brother snapped his armadas after about 3 days on them.

cant really believe your comparing these skis the halo is 100000000 times better in everyway. mastermind are cap construction and is there price point ski. if you want a ski to last get the halo.

Love my halo's!! I also have the impression that the mastermind is more suited for beginners, but I really don't know anything about them so don't take my word for it. Although if you have any questions about the Halo's pm me!

Probably because he landed incorrectly off a jump or any other incident that would cause any type of ski to snap.

Get the Halos
