Armada Halo questions

So im getting a new pair of skis for the upcoming season. Iv'e looked at alot of skis....

I think the Armada Halo has just about everything I wan't in a ski. It's light, butterish, low swingweight and it's rockered.

But I have some questions about them:

How light are they (Like in gramms)?

Since they have abit of early rise, will that help for riding in a bit of pow?

Are they a symmetrical ski?

Can I mount my bindings 100% dead center (Since I ski park 90% of the time)?

And im just looking for some more general information and cons/pros about them, anyone skied them?

+K for good answers and information. =D

weight in grams i dont know. But with the elf shoe tech they are just a smaller version of the jj's. they rock all over the mountain. I got to demo one of the first pairs of alphas and got to ride them all day in over a foot of pow. They rocked my world. If we had anymore snow i woulda just put on my jjs but they cut through the snow then get you up and with the rocker you can turn in snow so easy. i would def recommend mounting them not at true center., they just wont ski the same. They are not designed to be ridin in the middle. i would mount 1 or 2 back at least. i rode them almost center and back 3 since i rode them with demo bindings i could change them. they didnt ride good center. so trust me on mounting them back some. as far as and cons would be if you like to make for big gs turns then these skis wont do it. They like to make quick tight turns which is great park riders. hope this helps thewhiteroom

Thanks alot, getting the Halo. What about mounting them 1.5 back from the centre? (inches)

Yaok... But won't that make it harder doing rails spins? My last rockered skis was centermountes btw...

well not exactly because if you mount them back, regardless of how much technology is put into them, they will spin slower just because of physics. Because they are not symmetrical, and because the tail part of the skis weigh less than the tips, riding them back from center will slow down the rotation speed just because of how the physics of weight affects rotation. Not to say that their technology is not helping their rotation speeds, but center will increase rotation speed. Also the company just wants to support their new technologies.

Yeah, I think I will centermount them, maybe... But, can really 1.5 cm matter that much? It's like lenght of my fingernail...

just do recomended, it will make the ski so much better, the demos all had schizos on them and let me tell you center worked just fine if you are in the park 100% but when i took it to a groomer it just felt weird

I have to say that I respectfully disagree with most of what has been said. I have my alpha 1's mounted -.5 cm, and I feel like I can charge just as hard as ever on everything--pow, moguls, groomers, and obviously, park. I still notice the extra flotation due to rocker in deeper snow, think they are the best ski for rails I have ever ridden, and longer turns are actually easier (in my opinion). I'm about 5'7" and ride the 176, so it is a little longer than I would normally fit a park ski (because of the rocker).

Easily my favorite ski I have ever ridden--makes the perfect one ski quiver.

Hopefully that helps.

Thanks to y'all

Still can't think that the difference between centermounted and -1.5 cm... But, I'll mount them at the factories recommendation.
