Armada halo 2 mount

My Halo 2s came in the mail today and I'm going to a shop to get them mounted tomorrow, but I'm not quite too sure where to get them mounted at. I was originally planning on getting them mounted at factory recommended, but I realized that the factory recommended on these skis is -5. So now I'm just confused as to where I should mount them because -5 might be a bit too far back for me, they also have a mark for -2.5(thinking about mounting there). The halo 2s also only have a partial side wall and are meant to be mounted behind center(partial sidewall is pushed back a little). So I was mainly wondering if any of you have these skis and know where the best place to mount them is at.

P.S. don't badger me about not buying my skis from a local shop, I tried buying them from my local shop(60miles away from where I live), but they don't carry them in store and couldn't get the right size(182mm) from their dealer because he was sold out.

I have a similar dilemma with my new Alpha X's. I was leaning towards mounting them -2.5 as well. Im guessing this is Armada's secondary mounting position and is probably the position you would want to mount if you plan on riding some park with them. Due to the fact that both the Halo 2's and Alpha X's are a directional twin with an unconventional shape, I would probably not mount them true center cause I'd bet they'd ski like shit. I would love to hear from some people who have ridden either and what they mounted their bindings at. Anyone true center / Did they ski well at all?

I've had 2 pairs of Halo 1s, skied both at true centre and they skied fine. I originally mounted my first pair at -2.5 as recommended, they do ski marginally better on groomed at -2.5 but I hated how it felt in the park.

Once you've hit a few rails you can't really tell the difference in carving performance between -2.5 and centre anyway.

I've not skied the Halo 2 but they have the same contact points, just less sidecut so I assume the difference in groomed performance between -2.5 and centre is even less on the newer model.

Sparknotes: I liked centre better.

Have you skied the Halo's yet? I ski recoils right now but the side wall is beginning to blow out so I need some new skis... I am between this years recoils and the Halo 2's but I wanna know how the ski at true center?? I thought I would go with them because they are a little wide underfoot which I was kind of looking for and a little less stiff the Recoils it seems so it'll be fun.. Let me know man!!

I just got a pair of alpha x's, I mounted them center. i find them to preform surprisingly well on groomers. my advice is if you ski on a center mounted ski now go center you won't notice a difference.

Just got the Halo 2 today.. Looks so sick I'm gonna go center even the the recommended is -2.5.. Curious how they are gonna rip haha

I got mine at -2.5 good on groomers but weird in the park, I got them remounted at center skied a little weirdon groomers but felt great in the park

Sup y'all,A follow up to this thread....

I have halo 2s at 170 and the suggested mounting is -5.... so is the 176.

BUT on the 164's and the 182's the suggested mounting is -2.5

weird right?

any ideas why there is a difference?

the factory recommended on the 182s is -4, and there is another line for -2.5. I went with -2.5 and they feel awesome. so its not that the factory recommended on each size is different, they just have 2 spots marked for the factory recommended for park(-2.5) and all mountain use(-4).
