cusson was skiing with the armada, he got those last friday, they dont look like they are shit skis, like lot of people pretend they might be, they look great, he was riding the red AR5 in 180...pretty stiff ski, not some noddles like lINES...

especially the ostness dragons, they are soft. BTW, armada is basically skis for good skiers only, thats why they so stiff.

You people are such morons. You just think a soft ski can't perform as well as a stiff ski FOR YOU. The super stiff twin tips are made for people that are really good, not the average Joe out there. I've heard it from many people and experienced it myself that you don't need super stiff skis to do good shit. You just want stiff skis because you think they make you cool or better or whatever it is you think you are.

sure you can do stuff on soft skis, but it doesnt make them good, iy just takes a good skier to be able to use them. my friend had the old 1260's and he was a really good all around skier, and when he was one the oarnge 1260's, he had trouble skiing and looked real sloppy and couldnt keep up to us, but as soon as he got on v's he was rippin up, carving turns that he couldnt of on his old skis, i know for myself that stiff skis are better for expert skiers, but dont trust what people say about this cause its usually crap find out for yourself

well i want stiff twins precisely because i am not good in the park. that way they'd be good enough for me to ski all mountain like i usually do, but i could dip into the park and learn without having to switch skis. most twins i've tried don't cut it in crud and bounce back off the snow when trying to carve on hardpack. the ar5s are gonna kick ass because they're a little wider than most too.

 
people think they're cool because they ride stiff skis??? that is the most rediculous thing i have ever heard. I ride stiff skis because i prefer the way they ride much more than noodles. I dont like my tails washing out on landings and i dont like my skis flopping around out of control. I ride park more than anything on the mountain and still would much rather ride the stiffer skis.

Wow, the retarded shit is hitting the fan. Dragon's are stiff? Did you used to ride cross country skis? I enjoyed skiing on a pair of Lines last year...in the park. I skied that ski in everything from deep snow, to solid ice hardpack, to soft crud to summer time slush, to the steeps of Blackcomb. I took my forsaken Enemies from the closet on opening day this year and remembered what a ski really is. I could rip fast turns on hard assed snow and not wash out. Yes, it was fun. Armada's are stiff and I think it's good. I enjoy a ski feeling solid underfoot when I am jumping and skiing. I know some of you will reply back freaking out, but it is what works best for you, bottom line. You need to ski as many diferent skis as possible to see what works.

not nesessarily. lines are so soft that it makes skiing good turns difficult even for lighter people. i definitly prefer a stiffer ride. mad trix are good. but im going to support armada with my next purchase of twins, next year. seeing tanner rip moguls on them has helped convince me. boyd also won superpipe in the european x quals, so i bet they keep speed in the pipe well.

 
Stiffness is preference. And don't try to tell me that soft skis can't hold up to high speed turns on hardpack.

Orange 1260s... I weigh almost 180 lbs, but I have NO trouble carving trenches on hardpack...

its all whats best for you depending on alot of things, weight, hight etc. im only 14 and only way 120 pounds, my lines can pull tight ass turns, and jump, and especically jib perfect for me, maybe not for you, but for me, so shut the hell up trying to say whats best for other people.

 
There are differences between skis. but usually its not a huge difference. 9 times out of 10 its not the skis that suck...

 
a good skier can ski on anything. but if you want some skis that will rocket out of turns you're gonna want a stiffer ski. if you've got lines and think they're stiff enough demo a good race ski you'll realize what you're missing on the groomers. I prefer the stiff ski in the park too, makes it easy to get out of backseat landings.

RS4LIFE is right, at least for my case, i ride whatever is on sale...all skis to me pretty much are the same.

i personally think a softer ski is way tighter in the park and hitting jumps and shit then something stiff

 
When you flex twins, do you flex them with the tail on the ground, or the end of the running surface on the ground? If you flex from the tail, they will feel softer than they really are.

I don't find the Dragons soft when I make alpine turns or when I make telemark turns. When I make alpine turns, the stiffness is wonderful. Whenever I start a tele-turn, I sometimes wonder if the Dragons are a bit too stiff (that could also just be me underpowering my Skyhoys though).

It seemed to me (in the shop anyway) that the Enemy and Maverick (or, in my case, the Piste Pipe and Ruckit) were softer flexing than the Dragon.

i ride soft, light, skis that dont break(well, they JUST delamed....), my freinds ride stiff skis, and break them, so thats why i ride soft, (and they were 130$ brand new)

Gregg, your wrong.... lines are noodles .... the older teh worse, some of their new shit isn't half bad. Also... what about a medium flexing ski.... sure everyone claims stiffness is so much better, and yeah, i agree, a floppy ski is gay... but so is a ski that is too stiff.... every quit bitching about how awesome at carving you are an accept that the armadas will be sick!
