Armada Edollo vs ARV 96 All Mountain Fun Ride

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my Skis and trying to decide which model should I get it? Looking something that I will have fun riding everywhere. I was prior looking to ARV 106 ; ARV 96 & Edollo.

I'm leaning towards ARV 96 but the Edollo's design looks really cool.

Also I'm 178cm tall 179lbs should I get the ski's with 177cm or 184cm?

Any advice? TIA!

The arv 96 is going to be better all mountain. But if you aren't going really fast and like to do lots of butters etc. In your all mountain skiing, the edollos are probably a good choice. When in doubt, size up and get the 184s.

both are very similar and very great skis so don't stress about it, you're just choosing what toppings you want on your sundae now

i say if you're on the fence, go for the arv96, it's the more well-rounded default option (dollos are just ARV96s with a few tweaks), or look at it this way: which will you spend more time doing, park or all mtn? if park, dollos are more justified, if all mtn, arv96s are more justified

as for size, how would you characterize your skill level and skiing style?

I would characterize myself as Intermediate. I ride mostly blue tracks, small jumps and open backbows.

I guess I would get 184cm if does not make a big difference but my previous ski was 176cm.

sorry i missed the arv106 part in the original post. if you want a ski a little more geared for open bowls, all mtn, soft snow, and a little less geared toward park, then yeah the 106 is a great option as well

for size, how did your last skis feel to you, the ones that were 176?

My previous one was a Rossignol Scratch Skis and I would ride 75% mountain 25% park

If you are riding 75% all mountain then arv 96s are going to be your best bet. If you like wider skis or get more soft snow, then I'd recommend sizing up to the 106.

oh okay great so the ARV and e dollo won't be foreign much at all for you, they are kinda the more traditional park ski shape like the Scratch, just with some updates

going by 75% all mtn 25% park i say go with one of the ARVs. 106 if you're more into the fresh snow and open bowl stuff, 96 if you want to prioritize harder snow performance etc a little more. both skis overlap each other a ton in what they can handle though and it depends on style and preference, so don't get stuck thinking you're choosing one and precluding yourself from much at all

where do you ski? if you're still on the fence that can be an easy way to choose. if youre east coast or midwest US i say 96, if you're west coast US i say 106, if you're europe i don't know enough about most places there to say which is more appropriate

I ski more @ Keystone and Tahoe.

Now my son which lives in Denver is telling me to get the Edollo 180cm, a little worst than the ARV96 as all mountain ski but more fun to ride&play.

Just bought the Edollo 180cm with Tyrolia Attack 13 GW4-13 DIN.

Now I need to find a Full Tilt boot in good price.

Thanks everybody for all recommendations.

edollo is 7mm wider in top 2mm wider underfoot & 5mm wider in the tail. vs the arv96 so if anything you’d have better use all mountain & also the park with this!
