Armada Bubba's

Has anyone seen these new Armada sticks? Called Bubba's. Apparently they were made specifically for Retallack Cats. 150+mm Super fats. I saw them for 5 seconds as they were being unboxed at local shop in Nelson. Didnt get to hold them though.... Any other news?

a 132

Trying to "get learned". Like I said, saw them flash by my eyes and thats it and a cryptic ski tech hint of 150+. Actual info would be nice. The picture link above didnt work. 132 mm sounds like a more versitile ski than what the tech said. Thanks

look on page 6 of the 2012/2013 gear thread. there is a pretty big write up on them and a pic

Riddle me this:

this is the new Powder ski for armada. ie. their new fat ski.

the ak jj is 195cm

131-141-120-138-128

When I looked at them in the store (for 5 second sneeky peek) they seemed larger than the ak jj which were next to them. I think the tech was right 150mm +. Ill go and grope them this weekend to confirm. 136 mm waist would sound reasonable though from what I saw. That top sheet is even sicker now that I can look at it without it being pulled away from me, my eyes did not have time to comprehend.

the 188cm bubba is 135-150-132-139-129

So it's actually skinnier underfoot than the ARG was but way fatter at the contact points...

esp. with elf shoe tech and early rise they should have made this ski longer. id love to charge a 195 bubba with very little sidecut, stable at high speeds, slashy but not hooky.

Just a little heads up, but we've got a few pairs of 188's and 178's available. For sale on our website tomorrow...! They're epic!

we just got them in the shop i work in. limited early release by armada for this season. only 100 pairs in the USA right now. Seems like a hybrid between the arg and the jj. 188 cm. Stiff underfoot with a large rocker in the nose and some in the tail. Stiff camber underfoot. they basically made the arg more friendly to ski on variable snow conditions. we're supposed to have a pair mounted up here soon, hopefully we get some snow so i can try them out.

most people would say there is a small market for skis in the 190+ range, but there is an even smaller market for skis that cost a grand, the only people that would really be looking at those are probably die hard skiers so a 196ish would be perfect

I think the 188 size is pretty prime. Long tip rocker with less tail rocker. stance is set back and its really stiff underfoot. Seems like a good compromise between maneuverability and stability. I mean the arg wasn't meant to be a charging ski, it was meant to be a playful deep pow ski. I think this ski will maintain that same niche but with a little more ability to charge without sacrificing the quickness. Besides armada has a new charging ski coming out next year

just saw them at porters tahoe today and i do have to say they look orgasmic, if i didnt already have a deep pow ski id def pick some up

HOLY FUCKING WANT

i would pick those up solely to rock that graphic, not to mention the dimensions are exactly what i look for in a pow ski.

Was just holding these in the shop today. def eye catching, but a

serious tease with what we've got on the ground. keep dancing...

They are in local shop now.... very sexy and stiff too. Wicked graphics... super lite.... want! Maybe next years pow dedicated ski for me. a 190+ would be even better.

I just picked a pair up today and mounted the Dukes on them. We are getting absolutely puked on in the NW and Ill be going up for the next few days and will reply to this post after I ride them and let everyone else know. I have been riding the TST's all winter so far and have been nothing but impressed with them and these basically look like their big brother. With between 40 and 50in expected to fall tomorrow alone I will have an accurate evaluation of these in some of the real deep for you guys!

I would buy this right now if they made a 195, but they dropped the ball on size. Why did they do this, it only seems logical to make a 195 for a powder specific ski. I am so mad because I wanted them so bad, but am pensive to buy now for fear that Armada will wake up and make a longer one next year. Problem is I need them before the start of next years season. Give me the AK Bubba.
