Im sorry in advance if there is already a thread on this i just couldn't find one that had enough info.

Well i am looking to get anew pair of skis for next year and i am really wanting the B-Dogs (2015). I am 6 foot 155 lbs and i ski all park and just little side hits on regular runs. This year i skied on Halo 2s 2014 and i really enjoyed them... they are just really banged up. I am wondering if anyone who has them can tell me how they liked them, how durable they are, and how similar it is to halos.

I would also consider they alpha x because ive heard its exactly the same just different flex, if anyone can tell me more about alphas that would be awesome!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
 
the halo 2s are pretty much the same ski as the b dog except the b dog is 30% softer, so its a pretty flexible ski so if thats what you want it's definitely worth it. You basically hit the alpha x on the head though pretty much the same ski as the b dog only its a more stiff ski for like all mountain but you can use it in the park and on urban like mike hornebeck does.
 
Along with a different flex, the Alpha X also has Armada's comp base, which is faster than the S7 base on the B Dogs, however it is not as durable as the S7 base.

Once again, I would instead recommend the Armada Coda. It seems like it would best suit your style, and the durability is top notch for a skier of your calibre.

Uhh dude, he's 6 foot 155 pounds. The codas would be broken in a day.

From what I've felt, they actually have a similar flex. I'm pretty sure the alpha x has a little more underfoot, but I could be wrong.

Uhh dude, he's 6 foot 155 pounds. The codas would be broken in a day.

From what I've felt, they actually have a similar flex. I'm pretty sure the alpha x has a little more underfoot, but I could be wrong.

Honestly, the Armada Coda is bombproof. I've sent jumps very large this season on the Codas with Marker Squires. I did cork.

Their durability is underrated. I would recommend them to the advanced park skier, no matter the height or weight. I would recommend a height around 155 for those skis.

Yeah, but he's 6 feet tall. The codas max size is 150 or so. He needs to be on 185s or above.

Stop feeding the troll.

Basically OP it comes down to what features you hit most often. If you're skiing lots of big cannons, jumps, pipe, and you also spend a lot of time charging hard on groomers and all around the mountain then you'd want to go with the Alpha X. You'd benefit from the extra stiffness on landings from big jumps and in the pipe and the faster base will ensure you have enough speed.

If you spend more time on smaller jumps and features and enjoy more buttering around then the B-Dogs would be the one to go for. Also if you hit a lot of rails then the stronger base on the B-Dogs would also be great for you.

The Armada Coda is basically a ski made for the park skier with balls. The joke's on you. I have been sending my tricks off extra large features like flat bars and tabletop. The skis have held up great and they are a great match with Marker Squires. I'm over 6 feet 200 lbs.

Hahaa first of all I would't call a flatbar an extremly big feature.. And you srsly can't be skiing that much with that setup i'm 5.9 and you weigh more then me. I usually use 176 with a jester, squires and griffons just break! 2: If you go to Armadaskis.com and go to skis you'll see the skis listed on MEN; AR7, BDOG, THALL etc, you'll see women, and then lastly YOUTH; there you have CODA.

CODA is like AR7's little brother, they always have the same design. CODA is for kids, and you just have to accept that..

BTW, been skiing on the B-dog this entire season. And it's great! Actually my most durable ski yet. The skis give you the same experience as Halo 2, just with some smoother butters.

I think you'll just have to accept that the Armada Codas are more of a park ski than you'll ever deserve. I think classifying them, as you did, as being YOUTH skis is offensive to me as well as many others who choose the Armada Coda as their ski of choice in the snowboard park.

I don't think you truly understand how large I can trick it off of the XL flat bars at my home mountain. Let's just say that I can pretzel with ease, and the Armada Coda has served me well on all such features. For you to classify these skis as "youth" or whatever you want to call them, is offensive.

There's no difference between these skis and the AR7, just look at the graphics, that proves it.

Yo I've skied codas for 3 years now and not even topsheet chipping! Learned my ski slide on them and my first 4 pretz 2! They are bombproof and you are missing out if you don't ski them! The coda army is offended by you calling them a youth ski! Gus kens worthy him self recommended them when I broke my filthy riches on my cork 9 on momentums big jump! So basically the best ski out there

First off, if you were 200 pounds, you would destroy a pair of squires, which are all plastic and meant for people under 140 pounds. I call BS.

Second, the AR7 and Coda are completely different skis. Just to start, the AR7 has a 50/50 sidewall where the Coda is a cap ski. Second, the flex is completely different. The Coda is much softer. Teh coda is also thinner in every dimension compared to the AR7. The cores are also different between the two skis. Last, the AR7 is a full park ski where the coda is a youth/tweener ski. So nothing about the AR7 and Coda are even close.

Last, you have no topsheet chipping because the Coda is a cap ski, which helps to prevent chipping but sacrifices a lot in the performance side of things.

First off, if you were even half the skier I was, you wouldn't be destroying squires. I can stomp trick. They are bombproof bindings and I have no regrets about trading my Pivot 18s for these bindings. They have been very nice on my corks.

Second, they are almost exactly the same ski. I'm not sure why you're talking about the dimensions. They are the same ski on the graphics. They are very close skis. I have skied them both, and prefer the Coda. They are Armada's flagship park ski, it says on their website.

Last, you clearly can not trick it large. I'm not sure who cap is, but I know that famous skiers also ride on the Coda. I sacrifice no performance on this ski. The XL features on my mountain are no match for the Coda.

im getting a kick out of this. but hey OP listen up i have a pair of armada bdogs in 182 the biggest size they carry and i rode them 4 times ill sell you them they're mounted with fks 14s for a 28.5 full tilt booter if you wanna buy them PM Me i want a softer ski ill sell them with the bindings for 500 shipped witch is a steal cause theyre basically brand new and you will be getting FKS with them

Can you please understand that AR7 is their falgship ski and not Coda? They're two entirely different skis... they only have the same graphic! And I'm not the one who's mainly claiming that Coda is a Youth ski. That is straight from Armada, the people who makes the ski. Honestly squire should NOT hold up for the kind of skiing you're claiming, if you just land a little hard with a pair of squire's you bounce out of the bindings.

Can you please understand that the Armada Coda is actually a really nice ski? I don't see why you have such problems with a rider ripping it up on Codas in the snowboard park. It is clear to me that you have never actually tried these skis. I have really stomped on this ski, many tricks have been learned.

One thing that has become apparent to me is that you simply cannot trick it large. Plus, you are claim that they are different skis even after looking at the graphics? They are clearly the same ski. Just slightly different lengths, which is good. I think it is very appropriate to have a ski in many sizes. The way you are saying that the Coda is bad because it is in different sizes is purely offensive. You're saying that people are less good at tricks because they have short ski.

Honestly, Squires can hold up great, if you know how to stomp trick. Which bindings to use? I bet that they couldn't hold up to my Squires. You can believe me when I say this: many rodeos have been stomped.
