Armada ARVs

if you like a pressed out butter ski then ya. but truthfully there are better options. just because henrik and phil make them work doesnt mean they are a good option for everyone.

get ar7s or t halls if you stay with armada. they are lighter, poppier, and MUCH more duable.
 
ive been wondering about this why don't they make great park skis? they have the same flex as the halo and close to the same flex as the thall and they are constructed in similar ways with the same kind of carbon/fiberglass weaving etc. So why don't they make great park skis?
 
They're fine in the park, they just aren't park-specific skis. They're 95ish underfoot depending on the size so they can still do rails and all, just aren't as nimble on them as an AR7/THall/Halo/etc.
 
the halo uses a hybrid cap/ ar50 sidewall construction. the arv uses the old abs sidewall build, which armada abandoned due to durability issues. its not that the arv is necessarily "bad," the build has proven to not last as long, especially in the park.
 
more like flexing them out and losing all your camber, and thus all your pop off jumps. in the past i have owned old build t halls and arvs, both of which ended up being rockered by the end of their lives, and yes you do get some top sheet tear.

i just dont get why people would spend the same amount of money for old technology.
 
for me personally im 63 and i like a fairly long ski so there isn't a whole lot out there for skis that are 185 length and under 100 underfoot
 
I hear ya. I'm 6'2 so finding a ski that can hit the park as well as the rest of the mountain is a problem. Most skis labeled as "All Mtn/Park" usually stop around 181 in length and anything less than mid 180ish range feels short.
 
on3p are 186 which is pretty big but the rocker kinda makes me think they will ski shorter. plus there like 600 bucks and klint skis make a 188 but i don't know too much about them. Just what ive discovered from looking around
