Armada arv’s and other cheaper park skis

saw arv 86s on sale for $320 on evo and i’m considering getting them, but i wanted to ask around first to see if they’ll let me ride how i want. i like to rip groomers a lot and the two pairs of skis i’ve got are mindbender 90ti’s and blades, but recently i’ve been spending a lot more time screwing around in the park, especially when i ride with my friends. i don’t wanna keep banging up my skis though cause neither are particularly cheap, so i’ve been wanting to get the cheapest, decent quality park skis i can find and just use them as beaters basically. i hear a lot about honey badgers but don’t really know how they feel. atomic punx five’s are also cheap but again i have no idea how they ride and don’t see them very often either. i’ve heard good things about volkl revolts but there aren’t any in my size, so really arv’s are probably my best bet right now.

could anyone give me a quick rundown of the arv’s and maybe some recommendations as well? i’m really just looking for a cheap, capable park ski that can still hold its edge on groomers.

I ride 86s as my only skis. They’re very durable, I’ve only chipped the top sheets a bit after like 30 days. They’re stiff enough for me to rip down the blues, but still have some fun flex. I can’t butter them but idk if that’s me or the ski

The arv 86 is timeless, solid and well built.

do ‘t know about newer punx. But i have some 2014 punx that i have been riding recently and they are great.

def go the arv if you got a deal on them

I think the punx stiffened up a bunch after 2014.

Mine are stiff as hell. Can’t butter those puppys for shit. And i can butter most skis with my handsome weight.

might also be biased as i have been riding my ufo’s a lot recently which are total noodles

Ok so I think I can weigh in here pretty usefully. I've ridden ARV 86s for my last 50 days or so of skiing, that being every day this season as well as the tail end of last. they're snappy skis, really fast and light, fun on groomers and obviously perfect for rails. but they're also really durable, like I'm surprised to say I have zero edge/sidewall damage after this much skiing which is ironic considering your post because I owned a pair of honey badgers right before these and they got fucked up literally on their third day being skied. Go with armada imo, I love these skis
