im thinkin about gettin some new skis and i was wonderin what some fellow newschoolers thoughts were on the ARV or the Prophet 90 and which one i should get

also im 5'10" 150lbs and i was wondering if the 175 ARVs would be good for me to get

any advice is greatly appreciated

also if anyone knows where i could get a pair cheap that would be epic

I'd say the arv, they'd be more playful in the park. The prophets are stiff as fuck. 175 would prob be OK for you I'd say. What is your skiing ability?

if you're gonna hit the park my advice would be to consider the Blend, 100mm underfoot but it's softer than the Prophet and might suit you better. i have the Blend from when it was still 90mm and love it, ARV is a solid ski though from what i hear,

peace

I'm 5'10 165 and I ride 179 prophet 90s and i fucking love them, they're stiff as fuck so they're not an ideal park ski but its incredibly fun all mountain, snappy as hell edge to edge and carves like a motherfucker. One of my friends rides arv's and he likes them too

idk i think like a 2 im not sure tho, i wouldnt consider myself an expert in any case, im probably like advanced and i do a little in the park no much tho i try to stay away from rails cause i dont really like them, thatnks for the post

i was thinkin about the blends but i ski on an 85 waist now and idk if a jump to a 100 waist would be difficult, and i talked to a guy with the blends and he said they ride more like a pow or backcountry ski, do they? or are they more all mountain? and how do they do on the all mountain?

I went from some old ass 1260's with like a no more then 700mm waist to lizzies and didnt find the transition hard at all youll get used to it after a couple runs. and the wider skis will just charge through everything it wont be a problem man

i know a guy who skis southern PA on blends. they might be my next ski.

they will probably be fine, but a 95 waist would probably have a similar feel.....

im the same size as you and i have the green 175 arv's from a few years back and i love them. they're super soft and great for butters but still responsive and fun. especially if you get newer ones because they tend to get stiffer as the years go on.

If you aren't doing a ton in the park i'd hesitate on the arv's. I find the 175's to be kinda a crazy ride in anything cruddy. 5 9, 135 for reference. going 185 might solve that problem but idk...

The ARV's are sweet skis. they tear it up all over the mountian. Armada is a grat company too, i bent one of my 185 ARv's and they replaced my skis. Great product and a great company.

i was wondering if AR6s would be a ski to throw into the mix too, cause i mean i dont do a whole lot in the park i like to ride the mountain but does anyone know if they would be a good ski for the east and someone who does probably 65% mountain and 35% park almost entirely jumps in the park too

You would prob like the ar6, they'd be a little softer and more playful than the arv, so a lot better in the park, but they wouldn't float pow as well. (you could still do it though if you're a good skier)

kung fujas

blends

rossi s5

ARV

There all very similar IMO, but i think Kung Fujas are the sickest. great for everything. but so are all these skis.

heres where you should make your decision: more park=ARV, less park and almost all all mtn=prophet. prophets are stiffer cuz of the titanium sheet and carve like no other, but the arv's are softer and will be more park friendly
