just talking to someone and learned all this shit about armada...

armada means armed in spanish

and

the armada was a spanish fleet that was meant to invade and destroy England, too bad the small English ships got to it first.

The Armada was considered indestructible and held many weapons...it was one motherfucker of a ship

also the twin tips of the skis and the parabolicness of them supposedly represents the sails of the ship

Technically, it was the combination of the storm and the English fleet that beat the Armada... the smaller English boats were able to handle the waves better, and fight at the same time.

But really, if you didn't know the meaning of Armada before now... wow.

i heard my social studies teacher say armada when he was lecturing, and it suprised me cuz i wasnt really paying attention, then i got me thinking about skiing then i wasnt paying attention at all.

it seems that history favors the weak, in some parts. The invading fleet of the Mongols, was destroyed but a storm as well, the japs had no chance, but loured them back into there boats, during a freak typhoon. The russians didnt have a chance against france, or later on germany, but on both of those accounts, they were annihilated by the coldest winter in so many years. Same with afghanistan, during the russian, and british occupations.

you're retarded, The Armada was the fleet, not one ship. And the English didn't destroy it, they didn't even get to it, a huge storm did. The english lost more ships in battle with them after. most of the armada ended up in the northern UK.

finally someone with his facts straight, but who knows, if it wasn't on video it could just be lies. I don't think its a matter of histroy favoring the weak. When the weak do pull off a once in a life time win like they do, it becomes far more well known and rememorable. So its not it that happens more but that its remembered for.
