Ok. Sorry if this has already been posted, but Armada is indeed coming out with the ARG in November. The dimensions are quite interesting-125-135-133-134-120 at 185cm and with reverse camber. It has one of the sickest graphics I've ever seen as well. For anobdy who has Powder Magazing and missed it, check it out. Share your thoughts.
 
I say it's also 800 dollars. Yes the DP is $910. Whatever. More dope skis with dope dimensions. I'm all for it.

If only I lived near a place I could actually ride a pair...
 
Too bad the shop I work at stopped carrying Armada. Bummer.

Anyways, what size boot do you rock? If you're still near me let me rip on them a couple runs?
 
Hmm I'm a 27. Think they'll still click? I hoppppe. And sure, get them for that price, sell them off for about the same or lose 50 bucks...everyones happy.
 
Armada could put metal edges on dog poop and they would sell out in stores by christmas, they are so hot right now...

Not saying that is what the AARRGGHH is, just that they have done well for themselves and have quickly put that money back into R+D to keep coming out with new stuff every year, kudos. We'll see what this thing is like in good time. I really hope it isn't just a cheesy Lotus of sorts.
 
Thats why I'm iffy on my decision, but Armada has been heading in the right direction lately, so hopefully this is another step in that direction.
 
The armada ARP? When is that coming out? Forget my Kwoods Taylor. I want the new ARP. How steezy would that be to have an actual piece of doody and mount some bingers on those suckers.
 
I'm not really a fan of the graphics myself...too patchy. but i guess it would hide nicks and scratches well.

I didn't even know about this ski. I even went to SIA and DIDN'T see it. crazy shit though! It looks a lot like the K2 pontoon. Which was ultra sick. Reverse camber and sidecut. Soo progressive.

Anyways... JIBIJ just got like most all of its NEW Armadas IN STOCK. SO get 'em while the laminates are still warm. haha.
 
Do you mean literally or in the sense of a ski with only one purpose.

I'm going to go with the latter, since the ARG has 5 dimensions, and say you're talking one purpose. People have quivers, people like pow skis....
 
i do not see this ski lasting that long at all. There just isnt the market for several reverce camber skis. I see armada putting this ski into their "specialty" series much like the pipe cleaner. I believe they will make a limited quanity of the ski exactly like the pipe cleaner. Then re-asess the market next season
 
Those measurements are so damn confusing...a five point measurement...so it starts skinnier, then gets fatter, then skinnier again, then fatter again...and finally skinnier again?? WTF?
 
An odd ski, but I dont think anyone can knock it until they ski it. It just might be the sickest thing since sliced bread.
 
I've allready decided, I don't need to demo or nuffin, i have a new dream ski, based solely on size and graffixxx alone. The rest doesn't really matter when you're going that far to one end, props to armada from me.
 
they arent that confusing. its skinnier in the tip and tails, but then it gets wider towards the binding, but then shrinks again before reaching the middle of the ski. it is a reverse sidecut ski with a mini shaped ski underneath the boot, or mayble a little longer. supposedly it allows you to ride powder with a reverse sidecut ski, but then you can carve on groomers becasue of the mini shapded ski.

 
it sounds iffy to me as well, but it should be gnar.

anyways what are kids going to buy, a reverse camber ski from Volant, or a reverse camber ski from Armada....Oh wait, volant is all but dead
 
not exactly.

the spatulas were just reverse camber + reverse side cut

the pontoon is rockered (early rise tip and tail), with dimensions that narrow as you move towards the tail. > with just a bit of sidecut put under foot

the ARG is built like a propeller. from tip to tail it goes narrow-wide-narrower-wide-narrow, with a rocker desgin. theres also just a bit of side cut under foot.

as you see its much more like the pontoon which has been around for 1 year, but they still have many differences
 
Smuggs why do you hate this thing so much.

To me it looks very much like the Prophet 130, which is supposedly an excellent pow ski for people with room in their quiver for that sort of thing, except with a few minor differences. So yeah, it should be good.
 
It really does look like a rip form DP with a normal 1mm sidecut under the the foot and massive tip tail rockers with narrow tips. Hope its got something abit more unique on it like the super dooper Bode base or something. The tips dont look too good thing they should have just gone with round tips. Graphis do look mad tho. Another thing is that form the pic it looks caped which makes me think they'll be real light but could be a problem in the crust as the light weight will deflect really easy (that is if they are light tho) But who care what i think,meh.

Erics new ski looks the $$$ and seems the reviews i've read agree, stiff like between 189 squad and 194, sandwitch, fat (130-112-118), tip/tail rockered and big 193. mmmmmmmmmmmmm.............

I got to see the arg the other day looks dope but has cap construction just like the pontoon. Is this the only cap design armada makes? Seemed fairly stiff. that's all.
 
you guys are just stupid about this ski. A large part of the newschoolers comuntiy lives out east. I ask you what are the chances of you ever even using a ski like this, this ski is made for only one thing, super deep pow. Much like the spatula it will suck ass as soon as it hits anything but pow. Why are you all so stoked about this ski when 90% of the population will wont even have the opertuntiy to ski the snow that this ski is ment for, it saddens me too, i think that every one should be able to ski the deep stuff but it just aint gona happen
