Armada AR7

armada is notorious for being very hush hush about their stuff. i got pmed asking not to post pictures of their stuff last year lol.

we all know they are gonna have a new graphic, so they can give that away, but by labeling it the ar6 they are still keeping some stuff secret.

Armada doesn't give a ton of info as SIA. They keep everything out of the public eye till it's released. I'm not sure why, it seems like people being excited for it early will raise its hype on places like NS even without people giving any on snow review at all(like, Afterbangs, last year).

And the sidewall underfoot and cap after that is a good idea if they do it right. You put more pressure on the edge underfoot, and that is why sidewall skis seem to carve better. The cap tips and tails will make them lighter, and especially lower swing weight. It's what they do on JJs and ARGs.

The construction of skis using cap construction at tip and tails and sidewall underfoot isn't really new.

I know Dynastar has been using it as "Auto Drive" or something like that, which is the same thing. Its intended to lighten the ski for swing weight, while still giving torsional stiffness under foot via the sidewall. Sidewalls also feel supposedly better underfoot on rails.

i assume similar to the Suspect this year, and maybe the P3, etc, where the tope sheet wraps part of the way around the sidewalls, giving greater durability, and slightly more flex.

So it's got a sidewall, but the side wall ends is narrower, and part of the topsheet meets it where sidewall used to be.

good find. heres the embed. in other news, ar7 base looks so dope!

agreed, and sorry for all the controversy with the construction, im not really sure what jacob is riding right now.

and i REALLY want a video on the halo and alpha 1, they look dope as fuck

i was looking at buying the Ar7 for next year, but im not a fan of cap skis so im wondering how these will ski, anyone know skiing on a similar construction with info?

The construction of the AR7 is really similiar to this years jj. cap construction with some sidewall, i forget what its called, to keep the middle nice and stiff with some good butter zones. gonna be pretty sick, way more durable

it is barely a twin tip i have demoed most of the 2011 line and they are pretty much a carving ski

Im kinda feeling that the alpha 1's and halo (alpha 2) are going to be pretty sick with their reverse camber. not so sure how they will handle on rails though, anyone know?
