Armada AR7

Thats right. Next year say good bye to your AR6s. I was in my ski shop today and they generously let me see the armada catalog. Everything looks really nice but this is what stood out. It will not be much different but instead of being sidewall, they started using their funky part cap part sidewall construction like they used on their pow skis this year. They also have a new ski called the Triumph. It like an all mountain twin tip. Similar to the Prophet 90s. Outerwear has been stepped up technically speaking. Most things were 20k/20k and there were a few 10k/10k stuff. Wasn't a huge fan of some of the jackets but the pants looked nice. They also still have the ANT in the lineup and the JP vs Julien has not been renamed after a few changes in their team.

then what are the blakc and white skis all teh way on the left i read ar6

Yay!!! One of the most durable park skis ever is now even more durable and should still ride just as well, sick!

probably a preproduction graphic. i can guarantee that is the graphic for the ar7 and there is no more ar6

yeah, so is it a good thing that they used that new construction or not?

..can anyone vouch for the durability of the alphas/jj's that construction?

It's a "best of both worlds" situation. In theory, it should ski like a sidewall ski, but have the durability of a cap ski. So, on paper, it should be the best construction out there, but we'll have to wait and see how it works in the park - it's already been proven in the powder with the JJ.

the ski will butter and press like a cap ski tho. depends what u prefer. some prefer the slower damper feel of buttering a full sidewall ski

i haven't really liked the jj graphics the past 3 years they've been around

it just was weird to look down and see a neon brain wearing goggles on my feet

i like this year's better though

ive got the AR6 and JJ's from 09 not sure if I like the cap/sidewall on the park skis will be interesting to see how they go. would love to see some input from a team rider on here whos been skiing them.

they all look sick! anyone know if the alpha 2s or halo are different from this year or just name and color?

It isn't working for me. Maybe a link to the blog? I'm searching for it with no luck. Thanks for trying tho.

Yeah they do look very short, but Armada is usually very good about making skis in multiple lenghts, short to long so I doubt that the ar6/7 will be much shorter than the last few years, mine are 181.

good question, I cant really think of any answer other than for street jibbin, but he is in the mountains so im curious now too.

ok i cant possible be the first one to notice the the skis "labeled" ar6 ARE sidewall skis.... its quite obvious just take a look. and i bet there is an ar6 and its the same but its the halo and alpha 2 that have the hybrid sidewall/cap...i could believe the "relabled ski to keep it secret" but then wouldnt the sidewall still be hybrid? loos like your average sidwall twin tipper that says ar6 on it...

This must be an early pic for graphic purposes... The AR6 is gone. Donzo. The AR7 is what will exist and the black/white graphic will be on some outerwear too.

no shit... i pointed that out already on the photos. its the AR6plain and simple... it even fucking says it. i get the whole "oh its a production graphic"well is it a "pre production sidewall" as wellno its the same as the fucking AR6 that he ALWAYS USES except when the snow is soft then he goes for the alpha 1 or 2 or halo

okay, just chill out. usually they would have their riders riding the actual ski in the comps that are the next year skis. if you say that they are having that new construction, thats great, the ar6/7 will be even better. im just pointing out the fact that jacob, one of their most important xgames competitor, is riding the ar6/7, but it doesnt have the new construction.

yep, but dumonts old skis had the new topsheet, but the same base.

the ar6/7 (sorry, not sure what to call it) that jacob is riding has the new laminated sidewalls and a different base.

however, you could be right, they could just put on the new graphic on the base and laminate the sidewalls....

or perhaps hes getting a promodel/prototyping some new ski? this years skis are all already developed, maybe its some new ski they are testing out

i find this to be the least likely, considering it has differences, and ive heard the same that the ar6 is done. if he really wanted to ride the ar6, they would have just pressed the new topsheet onto an old pair. maybe the base would be different too, but not the sidewall
