Armada AR6's delamming and chipping

i have the orange ones with the buildings on the tails and they are surprisingly tough skis. i hit this rock early season, HARD. and it barely put a scratch in the base. the topsheet is chipping a little bit its barely noticable and completely cosmetic so far. on my second season on them i couldn't expect any better.
 
this years AR6 topsheet chips instantly.

i didnt want to kill them early so i was only doing one rail my first day, and it looked like they had years of abuse up top.

its too bad, really, cause the mad steez graphics are so incredibly sick.

the bass is all good though... and i got them brand new directly from armada for cheap, so im not complaining.
 
Delaming doesnt mean the damn graphic coming off.....its the ski falling apart. Usually on the tip or tail.
 
i have heard about the topsheets on the AR6s delaming easier than the Ar5s did. i actually am not a fan of this years parks skis from them, i think they softened up the AR6 way too much from the previous years AR5, eliminating whatever all mountain qualities theey gained by addign width. it's fine for the t-hall to be a noodle, as it's the park ski for buttering and whatnot, butthe AR6 should be stiffer for those of us who weigh more than 130lbs and want a stiffer ski.
 
I have had about two days on my ar6's. On the top sheet there are tons or scratches which i dont really care about, but on the sides and edges, ( if you have them the white parts, i guess the side walls) are chipping like crazy, and the tips and tails are really bumpy from idk what. Anddd on the bottom of one of my skis there is a pretty deep groove, what should i fill it with? p-tex?
 
If anything the AR6's topsheets are better than the AR5's..

The AR6's are NOT any softer than the AR5's by any means! If anything the are a bit stiffer in the tails. The Thalls got a bit softer, but thats it.

I weight 190lbs and I can ski that all mountain just fine.. Its rips shit up.. Of course its to narrow to be in some deep stuff but its a great all around park/all mountain ski. The longer the better.. The 176/181 AR6s are great for ripping big GS turns at high speed, huge air, steeps, all-mountain, etc...
 
i think he meant delaming isn't a problem with ar6s, but chipping can be, because of the sandwich construction..

i think armada makes a grat quality product, with that being said i have owned 6 pairs of their skis and all have held up well. i skied almost 150 days on the first years and only had one edge crack. my t-halls are pretty beat up but any urban ski would be. lots of cracks but no delams. the ar5's that i have i have skied about 10 days on and have one edge crack. other than that there perfect. i have nailed a few rocks moving pretty fast on my arvs and all i have had to do is a litle p-tex work. my ant's are bomber. i ran into a rock and went head over heels, there was a small scratch on the base. those bases are bomb proof. my pipes are sick friggin skis, i wish all of them were that good. the bases are soft but all race bases are so i am not complaining. sure the top sheets chip but if you ride a ski they all do. i have 20-25 days on the pipes and there holding up great. say what you will about the ski, but it doesent realy matter the condition your top sheet is in. your base is whats on the snow. if you are worried about aesthetics then maybe you should just stay home and look at your skis instead of using them, thats the only way they are going to stay perfect kids.
 
something about this struck me as kind of stupid....rails are really really hard on skis, and while companies obviously try to make their skis as durable as possible, rails will consistently fuck up your skis no matter what you do.

Also, in a way, it makes sense to me that a company would make a ski that will fall apart from sliding rails....because rail damage is not covered under warranties, if you fuck your skis you have no choice but to buy another pair, thus giving more money back to the company.

Anyways, I'll just go ahead and call you a retard for calling out someone on a totally true statement....retard
