They arent soft but a 171 or 166 length for u (Im 5'8 on 176, shoulda gone with 181) will be very pleasing overall.

I don't know what kind of skier you are but these things are actually meant for skiing. Not just buttering. U may find them too stiff or something at first but the burl(ier)ness of the ski will make you much better overall and more confident. And besides u see the pros buttering on them like mad so itll give u something to work for. (not that I or anyone else here is skiing to go pro haha). That's what Ive found.

they are like a 7/10 in stiffness. You can butter on them after some use, but i would recommend getting something softer.
