Armada ar6 center-mount?

I have armada ar6s as my park ski (I have an all-mountain ski and will be getting a pow ski soon) and I just got some 08 sth12s for bindings and I was planning on center mounting but I just wanted to make sure it will ski ok.

the ar6s are 171 and I am 5'5" and still growing. I know center makes skis ski shorter, 171 is long enough that I can saftely center mount, right? I'm pretty set on center mounting, but do ar6s ski well center mounted?

So the skis are long enough? ok thanks.

oh and one other quick question: on the ski there are markings for center, 2.5 back, etc... when I center mount them, should I just use the mark on the ski that says center? because I know there are different centers... (i.e. core center, true center, etc...)

Just turn one ski upside down and put it side by side with the one thats the right way up. If the centre lines line up then it is true centre.

I doubt the line that says center is true center, it's probably core center. Because it's not a symmetrical ski they won't mark a mounting point out to be true center, so it's most likely core center.

well when i measured out tail came up 86 and tip came up 85 (using the center mark on the skis)... which worries me because that means that the mark is forward of the actual center. but this could be an error in my measurement because i went straight from the tip/tail to center, so if the tail isnt turned up as much as tip then there would be a problem.

when i put the skis side by side and switched one around, the center again did not match up and suggested that the tail is longer... but once again i could have not had them matched up right.

to all those that posted earlier in this thread with centered ar6s... how did you center them? what did you use as bootcenter (the center mark on the ski?)? what did you tell the shop when you had them mounted?

Please help, ++++++karma to all who can finally help me resolve this issue... I need to get them mounted soon.

ok armada makes it easy for shops center is true center 2.5 is that back from true center and 5cm back would be ski center

i had ar6s and i rode them center and i really didnt notice a significant difference

AT ALL

just bring them to a shop(a good shop) and ask them to do it for you, they most likely will be able to do it correctly, and if they mess it up, it won't be your responsibility and you won't have to take the blame for messing up your skis. But a good shop will be able to do it no problem

I went -1.5 from the center marking, but I use them as an all mountain ski. Center should be fine mount should be fine.

I understand what your saying bro. sometimes ski companies center lines on skis dont match up i mount alot of skis at my shop. there is difference between "Core" center and true center. also alot of skis will be labeled as "park" or "rail" on there center lines. but yeah kids come in all the time saying they want true center, so what i do is measure the ski, cut the measurement in half and mark the centers with tape most of the true center lines are pretty close to the ones labeled on the ski, but sometimes they are inches off. And most of the time you wont get center lines at all on park skis unless you have true symetrical twins, like the addict pros, invaders, k2 came up with one too this year i believe. also if your 5'5 171 is pretty legit you should get a good few seasons out of them depending on how much you grow. i skied a 171 untill i hit 6ft then bumped up to a 176 and now im in like the 179-181 range

nice I can't wait to ski it.

If you center mount can you handle an occasional pow run ok? Because they're my park skis but sometimes i decide to take a random pow run in between park laps...

basically last year for the like last 2 months of the season i skiied them because i had guns but there way to short and falling apart
so yes they can handle anything moderately well

k i measured again and although i could definitely still be wrong i think that the center mark on the ski is .5 cm forward of true center (wouldnt that mean tail is a cm longer than tip?)...... if this is true should i mount them back .5 cm of the center mark or does it really make a difference?

dude it should be right on with the center mark. true center of armadas is right above the end of the M in armada (marked on the side wall). Did you push the tape down when you measured so that it followed the contour? I talked to tyson hall and armada measures from the tail up. how i like to get my center on my skis is measure from contact pt to contact pt. and divide that by 2. you can check that out and it goes right to the middle too. (contact pts are where the ski touches the ground first on the nose and the tail). but the mark on the ski should be true center not core. i would just tell the shop to mt it by that line unless you have some faulty markings, but i really doubt that.

Oh and deff center mt them you wont regret it. you'll probably only get a season out of them anyway if you're still growing cuz they'll be small as hell on you next season. im 5'9" and i rock 181's and ive ownd 3 pairs of ar6's so know that you've made a very good choice in skis. hope this helps enjoi!
