Armada AR5 reviews

I have a Pair of Armada AR5s and they seem to be great i am getting more agressive and doing alot of rails. the edges seem to be getting some good amount of damage, is this normal.

I've only ridden my 04/05 AR5s for about 5 days aswell... so I really can't comment too much on the durability other than the topsheet seems to already be peeling. I honestly don't care about the aesthetics of my ski... so other than that, they are awesome.

I've been on AR5s for 2 seasons and ridden them hard. They held up extremely well, but as with any ski if you hit rails alot, there will be damage.

I love my ar5's, but they do have softer than usual edges. I don't expect my edges to be immaculate but man, 1 compressed edge for about an inch and lots of deep gouges. Hopefully the thicker edge and longer teeth will compensate.

my edges went to shit soooo fast. i had edge problems the first day, and it was downhill from there. lost about 120" total, plus a ton of base

cant say i was too too thrilled with the edge durability, but they didnt delam or break, which was a plus

this years ar5 will be more durable than later models. the oversized edges and slant sidewalls will provide better durability for the 0506 ar5!

i bought ar5's when they very first came out skied em from mid february through march grinding park rails. then skied them the next year doing the same thing. last year i skied them doing some urban and lotsa park rails and stuff last year till vt open. then the sidewall blew out. i skied them on rails all summer long and fall (by this time they had no edges underfoot,i.e. they had fallen out) 2 weekends ago i broke my publics and skied them for the turkey rail jam at killy, then skied them this weekend on urban. the binding ripped out first day and i remounted it, realing that the core was breaking, i hit one more rail after the remounting and then the core snapped in half on the next rail. considering i broke my publics in 9 days of skiing(a freak thing of course) i would say they are pretty good choice, although they are expensive and many people that i know have not had them hold up like this.
