anyone heard anything about the alpha?

supposed to be tanner's new super wide park specific ski for next year, but they're still working on it now. anyone know when it'll come out or anything? i heard about it from a shop tech and i'm pretty stoked

couldn't you call the arv armada's wide park ski? let's be real here, and also tanner barely rides his own skis in the park anymore, always on pipe cleaners, JJ's or Arg's

actually it is true. i rode it at test fest in the middle of february.

it's a rockered park ski that has reverse sidecut at the tip and tail.

it's not very fat.

the rep said the whole idea is that people want a short ski but the length of a long ski for stability on landings.

i thought it sucked, and the topsheet looked super cheap.

now why would a park ski have a reverse sidecut, sounds like bull shit to me, the ARG has reverse sidecut, a park ski, a rockered park ski at that would not have a reverse sidecut

it is going to be more like the new JJ

yes the idea of skiing something shorter with the stability of a longer ski

also with the slight rocker in tip and tail it's going towards the buttering off of jumps

I think this ski is going to be the new thing for next year and the future of park skis

and no it was not in the catalogue

im pretty sure this ski is a complete rumor that someone started. Im willing to bet that this wont happen. too much overlap between jjs and arvs imo

you cereal pat? i remember you saying something like this...

it would make since for tanner to get a new signature ski, but why another park ski? he never really does park much more..

its a limited edition ski. only 500 are going to be made

only a select few shops get to sell the skis.

the shop in my town is one of the select few im stoked

the topsheet is white with black stripes.(gay)

they show i in a freeskier podcast called "Athlete Profile: TJ Schiller" it shows it when they go into the ski tune room in the armada house its kinda blured out but you can still see the gay graphic

that's a shadow, but yeah that doesn't look like any other ski they have out right now, you guys may be right, however, a park ski with an early taper still makes 0 sense to me

hmmmm

^^ good find

yea i agree seems like kinda a weird concept but hopefully armada will make it work. if there are only 500 they'll be $$$ too.

^^^And on the tuning bench. And no, it's not in the catalog.

I'm not sure what the ordering process is going to be, but the ski will indeed be super limited. Immediate feedback from Tanner says the ski performs outstanding.

From what I gather, it's a specific blend of several materials, shapes, constructions, and ideas from the athletes and engineers. I'm sure Armada is not in the business of wasting time, effort and money on a ski that "won't work." We'll have to wait to see how everyone likes it.

yeah it does look like that, but that is a super sketchy picture, so i was just saying before i saw the vids and the pics, that it could be fake, but it turned out in this case that that is what it looked like

Wow that is cool as all hell. In that pic 18 posted above you can definitely see something wierd going on. The skis being tuned on the bench have totally unique bases. In addition you can definitely see some early taper going on. Maybe slight rocker but hard to tell. If you look in the background there are Tanner's pcs leaning against the wall. Next to them is the same ski as on the bench and the tip taper is super noticeable. Also the tips look fatter than on the PC, and the waist skinnier.

Basically the ski looks exactly like a scaled down version of the JP vs. Julien.
