Armada alpha 2!

I can get last years alpha 2's pretty cheap, so I was wondering how long should i get them? Im 170cm tall (5,6 feet I think). I heard that they feel a lot shorter than they are so I was thinking of getting them in 176, last year I was skiing 166 afterbangs, anyone know how much longer the 170 alphas are? I would prefer getting the 170's but from what I have heard they might feel really short. Help me please?

You're definitely going to want 176s. From what I hear, they do ski super short (as you mentioned), so you should be able to rock 'em just fine. And, if you're mounting them at or close to center, it makes them seem even shorter.

I had armada alpha 2s and they ride like a way shorter ski so get em as big as possible. Just to warn you, mine delaminated after a few months, but I was lucky and got them warrantied.

Thanks, also. Is there much difference between last years alpha 2 and this years alpha 1? Except for alpha 1 being stiffer.

I'm 5'7" and I got 176, they are perfect. Make sure to mount them at factory recommended (-2.5)

Just a heads up as far as mounting goes, make sure you actually measure to find your centre then adjust your point accordingly. Although they are marked at centre, I measured and my centre is around a cm ahead of actual centre. So just a heads up, not sure if I just have a top sheet thats slightly off or if its through the whole batch.

definatley get 176, im 5'4" and i have 170's

core center vs. actual center. pretty self explanatory, but:

core center is where the middle of the core is, and you mount there with your midsole

actual center (i don't know what the real name is) is the mid-point if you measure from tip to tail.

on some skis they're the same, on others they're different...

mount alpha 2s at recommended because they have more rocker in the front. mounting them at center is more like forward mounting them

So Ishould definetely mount them at -2,5? Even though I always mount my skis dead center?

I mounted my Alpha 1's at recommended -2.5cm because of the additional tip rocker.
Just a note on the differences between the 1's and 2's: the Alpha 1's are slightly stiffer and also have a sintered base which is faster but also more high-maintenance. The Alpha 2's have a slightly slower base but it doesn't require as much in the way of maintenance (frequent waxing).

Yes. The Alpha 2 is now called the Halo. They have the same dimensions as the Alpha 1.

Thanks for the help everybody! Just ordered some armada halos with marker bindings for 674 dollars! Mounting them at factory recommended (-2,5) Cant wait til they arrive!
