Arial hate??

aerilists are sick. they can do a quadruple backflips with 1080!

ur rite jibskates are gay. its just like crosscountry skis without telemark heel thing.

wat kinda skis do aerialists use? they aint twins? are they stiff or soft?

Umm im not sure what aerialist use. i think basically soft alpine skis. And the hate im referring to is recently i have seen a few threads showing videos of aerialists and saying its just penciled and stuff which is true but thats cause they go straight up and dont travel 60 to 80 feet. and what do u mean link fail? it worked for me?

aerials are okay, they kinda remind me of diving. you wouldn't ever catch me doing that stuff but then again i'm more a big mountain boy that a park rat anyways.

they use little skis that are like a meter long. do you like the pencil spin look? they do it so they get scored higher not because they dont go much distance. ur dumb and i wish i could give u less karama then 0

LINK FAILED

no i dont like the pencil look at all. what i am saying is what they do should still be respected cause of how hard it is and stuff. And yeah i know its also for scoring. and alright i didnt say how long there skis were just that there probably soft. i said i dont know what they use. the point is that jibskating is gay. and sorry about the link it works for me fine when i click on it. not sure whats wrong with it try this one.

The type of "hate" that the OP is referring to is probably like the kind I saw in the "Triple Flips" thread recently. I read one response that said something along the line of "that style should ski away from our sport." All be the first to say that I prefer a slow, stalled-out spin over a tight, quick set of flips - but either way, mad respect to both styles!

As far as those Fischer Skate Skis, those would be good for people who want to practice rails or jumps on terrain that is not steep... at all. For example, those things would be sweet to practice on at the local sledding hill or something. They have all the edging you would need for that terraing but they aresuper light. Also, the fact that you could skate back up the hill as opposed to taking your skis off and hiking is a huge plus. To disagree with the OP, I may just have to go get a pair... hopefully these catch on :)

Yeah that is the hate i was talking about actually it was that post that made me even mention the hate. And i prefer stalled out spins too. but like you said and i said early you still gotta respect them.

And wow i actually never even thought about it that way. They would be a good way to practice at a local hill. I dont know if i would use them at a mountain though like fisher has a video of kids hitting full on boxs and doing flips and mountains which actually just made me laugh. But thanks for putting the other side out there now there idea kinda makes sense. u get 10 karma from me ha if u care about karma

Haha... I care about Karma now!!! I believe you are the first to give me some :)

Good lookin' out...

It's Happy Hour! Gotta get to my priorities...

aerialists are just fucking crazy and i have no clue how they are so consistent at doing doubles and triples. theyre more like robots on skis in my eyes, not skiers lol

I give arialists mad respect.

They ski on short, soft skis. no poles.

As far as the jibskate, I think it is somewhat of a joke. I'm surprised that guy at N* didnt get killed.

but, in reality, to every man his own. If someone wants to do something different, let them.

I don't think anyone really hates aerials. I personally love to watch them.
I think that people just don't want park skiing to turn into that kind of event... spinning and flipping as many times as you can.

Yea i know theres not a ton of hate for them. But yesterday i saw a post that said " i hope that aspect of the sport just skis away." and i think they need more respect for what they do. and i was surprised that that kid was allowed up at N* with them in that one video

I hope aerials don't go away. They definitely need more respect, some of the things that they do are ridiculous.
However I think that people aren't as interested in aerial skiing because it lacks the creativity, variety, and style that park skiing has. To most people it looks like aerial skiers do the same thing over and over again... making it less interesting.

hahahahah same here! especially cause i have to write my history papers in arial and i was just typing one before i read this!
