Area 51 was one of the first flicks I ever bought. Also remember 13 and Harvest being early purchases.

I wanted on of the 13 sweatshirts so bad. movie was sick, It's genuinely crazy to look back at that stuff now and think that that was how good you had to be to be a pro skier and fully sponsored.
 
holy shit yea! Skiingmotion was awesome! I used to be soo into that back in the day. Definitely Team 13's site.
 
McConkey landing way too far in the flats (160ft. far or something) on the giant kicker and Philou doing ginormous switch backs all over the superpark. Those were two of my favorite parts.
 
i was actually watching this video like two weeks ago. finally got all my shit in one spot (my stuff has been scattered around BC for the past like 4 years, grrr) and was looking through my old vhs videos and put it on. CR's 1260 and 1440, yeah.
 
anyone remember the trick tip for the "risky flip"? It was a d-spin 7 to backflip. straight up first double cork shit uh! so old!
 
Area 51 was the shit! First time i saw a switch backflip blew my mind. I think aucliar might have even hit a little rail at some point? wtf was up with the three-wheeler though?

Area 51 is so sick! Wasn't Tanner 14 in that? It seems like back in those days, jumps were way bigger and way sketchier, rails were almost non existant and half pipes were tiny. Its amazing how much skiing has evolved in technicalities since then. I think the amplitude has been about the same but everything used to be so sketchy.
 
I remember the ATV, but I don't remember what that plot was about. I watched 13 a couple weeks ago and those dudes were crazy back then! Double-flips galore. It's cool to see the style of those movies change in just a few years. From lots of mogul footage in State of Mind, to more freeride/newschool footage in 13 and Area 51.
 
Those guys were from Denver right? and had a couple different sites, rockclimbing and... What ever happened to them?
The website now is just a parked domain with nothing but ads...
 
Between your moments of nostalgia does anyone know some of the soundtracks? I would be super stoked to add them to the site. I don't have much listed for that era of films.
