but it seems like people arent really voting for the president, they are voting for the vice president. the way i see it, mccain is old enough to die in office, and obama is black enough to get assassinated.
 
first off i fuckin hate how all of america is voting for obabma because he's better lookin and is more appealing to the common american and everyone deosnt want mccain to win because he has yellow death and is about to die.......WUT THE FUCK.......looks should have nothing to do with being president, its all about what the president believes and they want to do to make our country a better country....
 
Well he's gotten cold since then (possibly literally soon), McCain is just going to continue Bush's regime of screwing up the country and only looking out for the upper class.
 
I'm Canadian, but wouldn't McCain be popular on NS if he was looking out for the upper class, after all, most of NS comes from rich white families?
 
ha and obama wants to start taxing corporate america which is goin to cause those corporations to start droppin their employess cuz they cant afford to keep them...most of those employees happen to be middle class
 
I don't that's true at all. I personally think that NS members are quite varied (including their economic status)
 
oh and another thing i heard that i thought was very interesting was that a group of people went out and asked people if they were voting for obama and if they said yes they would then ask them: do you agree with: then they would say a plan of mccain's...and the people would be like oh ya very much and these people had no idea that these were plans of mccain that they were being asked about and not plans of obama...goes to show that people have no idea why they're voting for the person they're voting for
 
Well that doesn't apply to everywhere, and it especially doesn't apply to where I live (Burlington, Vermont). Here the voters are very educated and they watch all the debates and read up on the candidates plans so they know to support the person who would better benefit our country (which is this election is quite clear, and if you think that its McCain with Palin as his partner you should check with your parents to see if you dropped on your head when you were young)
 
I don't know anyone who is choosing obama for this reason. McCain's age is just something we liberals can all agree on and laugh about, as everyone sees the individual issues differently.... i mean, he is pretty fuckin old.

if mccain dies and palin becomes pres, im leaving this country :) so yes it is kind of important. unfortunately, being appealing is a very important aspect to being president. people want to like the candidates plans as well as like them as a person. but + k to thread creator and iluvbread for making my day more insightful.
 
ya its important but you shouldnt base your fucking vote on whether or not someone is good looking or not....c i dont care who people vote for...i respect peoples choices, i dont like getting into political arguments cuz it goes nowhere and its pointless
 
people make way too big of a deal out of mccain dying. like palin isnt THAT bad. i mean its not like shes going to just start dropping bombs and shit like some people. She would have a talented cabinet and i really dont think she would fuck up..but thats just my opinion i know most of NS is stuck on the fact that she can see Russia from Alaska....fucking 14 year olds...

i can't face the fact that palin could be the president, for those of you who say she isn't that bad, yes she is, she is so dumb, have you watched interviews and debates with her? she won't answer a question and she makes herself look so dumb. she couldn't name ONE magazine/newspaper that she reads
 
its not that she can see russia, its the fact that she thinks that it gives her foreign policy experience, when she has never talked to any one from russia.
 
quick question...i love obama and he's a great candidate but in all reality he's not my candidate. i wanna vote for mckinney but really that does nothing. i'm an idealist stuck in america so is a vote for mckinney a vote for mccain because its not for obama?
 
I'll be voting Obama for sure. And for those trying to say that Obama only has support because he's attractive, that is the most petty, pathetic, pussy whining that I've heard in a while. I could just as easily make up a million reasons for why mccain has any support (he's white, he's a veteran, he's folksy blah blah blah.) Also, if you think that most american voters have any real understanding of the issues they're voting on, your head has clearly been shoved pretty far up your ass for your entire life. If you think you have enough of an opinion to be worth voicing, come up with a real argument or issue.
 
mccain definitely. fuck obama and being awesome and indie and so totally political and supporting him. i care about where my paycheck goes. i care about national security, and i reallly don't want the fucking government to tell me where i can and can't go to get my health care.

Obama speaks passionately about his beliefs, and many people think its all impossible bullshit, but really the things he's saying aren't that far reaching. many of his aspirations, such as universal health care have already been accomplished by other countries.
I'm not savagely against McCain, but I really think Palin is an embarrassment to our country. I thought we learned our lesson with bush... politicians need to be smart.

Are you kidding? We've been on the path to rock bottom for the past four years and I'd say we're pretty damn close. Electing McCain is just elongating these past eight years of economic and political turmoil.
