Are you the best skier you know?

I am the best skier on the mountain...

...At bombing tree runs. I'm mid lower tier among my friends at park but I'll race any of you through any tree run. Gimme a practice run to memorize all the rocks and trees maybe, or choose any run at my home mtn and prepare to get smoked.

this is pretty spot on. im probably the best skier i personally know (not that im amzing) but I feel like I would progress a lot faster if I skied with people better than me on a regular basis. Was like with skating, I was usually the best person I knew, but whenever we skated with better people my own skills increased much quicker.

But you are a cow? How the hell are you even typing on a keyboard?!

A bit off topic - I find I lead my buddies around the hill / making the calls on what runs and lines to hit the ENTIRE time... then when I sit back and let someone else lead they stand there like stunned mullets with nfi where to go.

I need new friends.

Being the best skier at a mountain in the Midwest, is like being the best looking girl at fat camp... Nobody gives a shit

Not to suck my own dick but I'm the second best skier I know, besides my old instructor. He absolutely fucking rips and taught me everything I know. I wish I knew more people tho cuz there are a lot of people out there who are a lot better at skiing than I am and they could teach me a thing or two. I also have absolutely nobody to sesh with which sucks major balls

Not even close. Everyone in my crew is at a similar level or better than me. When living in other places my skiing buddies have been close to pro level.

That’s kinda saying sumthin... can’t imagine the season there lasts long ? so practice time gotta be limited

Def ant no one spinning on the ground like u that’s for sure

Ha ha! I do what I can. I was never the best, but I always have fun!

Truth be told, I know too many skiers that are way better than me! I hate them all! ;-)

Not a chance.

But I did actually win “best skier” award from one of the residence halls (idk what to call it?) at the resort I worked at last year in Aus. The best part is that it wasn’t even the one I lived in. A Czech guy got that award lmao

But I also won FIGJAM so maybe it was one giant case of taking the piss lmao

If you think your the best skier you know, you are definitely not the best skier you know. If you don’t think you are the best skier you know, then there’s a chance you are the best skier you know

No prob. I was deserving of that anyway. I give mad shit to Midwest skiers about their hills not being mountains to get a rise out of em, but the mfers rip park and urban prob best I’ve seen, and I meet a lot of randos from the Midwest who rip all over

Honestly Midwest kids are probably way better at park on average because aside from park there isn't shit to do on their hills. I was just at Big Sky and if I lived around there and could ski there every week, I would be in the trees and bumps and bowls, not the park. But back home in the Midwest I basically have to nut up and lap the park

i bet those 10year olds that do double cork cant even ski corbets, they are good flippers but not good skiers, they should just quit skiing and do gymnastics and parkour cause clearly that is the things they love doing and are good at haha

you are so corny

i never met anyone outside of skiing who happens to be as good at skiing as me.

WTF? why would someone OUTSIDE of skiing, be as good as a skier?

I never met anyone outside of _____ who happens to be as good at ____ as me.

Fill in the blanks NS

I think like basically everyone in my peer group of real skiers is better than me. And it’s not like I suck at skiing I’ve done it my whole life but I can’t compete.

Who is in this category, cause it’s basically me.

I can ski chutes, drop cliffs, ski pow, trees , rip bumps at mach1 , pillows are my fav, rocks , fast grass, smash 3s and 5s in the park, butter, manual you guys get the picture, can’t get within 5 feet of a rail without falling.

However, I don’t know how to ski. Period. I don’t know where to put pressure, when to do it, when to release a tail or pressure a nose, I don’t know when to use my downhill ski, up hill ski or if that’s a thing, no one ever taught me, I learned on my own and have always just pushed to be better every time, I do still literally practice the things I do, instead of just doing them, but I don’t “know how “ to ski, it’s basically instinct

anyone else in this group?

Yes

Skiing before knowing how to walk is key.

I was giving lessons at 3
