Considering human nature, if trade was left up to the people, it would be unfettered capitalism. I agree that the government is WAY too involved in the economy, especially with this bumbling ass clown in office, but there have to be some controls or else people get fucked.

Also, I am a libertarian. In basic terms, I believe in everything opposite of what obama and his cabinet of morons believe.

Fuck you Delphi. Admit it, on paper in a perfect world, communism is a good form of government, at least as it was represented by Karl Marx. In practice, it fails.

hahaha I could never agree, Communism goes against everything I've ever believed in. Even in a perfect world it wouldn't work because it is an inherently flawed system. It's not compatible with human nature and it relies on fear and violence to succeed.

I love the Che shirts with the crossheirs. They need to make a solid Thomas Paine tee. I would wear a Reagan teeshirt, but I'm not up for being shit all over by the kids I go to school with. If there were an Anti-Obama tall tee, I would wear it everyday.
 
I feel like most educated young people are actually libertarians, they just don't know it.
Libertarian = Social Democrat, Fiscal Republican

i am not motivated at the point of a gun. i will do what you ask, but i am not going to innovate, create anything the bare minimum that is expected of me. and why should i?

Haha, I would totally buy that, my favorite is seeing the kids wearing a Che shirt and having no idea who the fuck he is. On a side note, I found a sweet shirt of McCain at a Fred Meyer during the election season that was done kinda like all the Obama ones everyone was wearing, only with "McCain't Touch This" written on the bottom instead of change, I had to have it.

no....just no. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Have you ever looked into the libertarian model? Social Democrats and Libertarians couldn't be any more different. Why do you think libertarians attack the stimulus bill so much? There are too many irrational social projects in it. Too much fuckin useless spending on unemployment and other pointless social projects.

And to Dingosean, if you believe in universal healthcare, you are completely irrational. Far left moonbats like yourself are typically the furthest thing from rational.
 
Also, the bulwark of libertarianism is that the government believes people can take care of themselves without the help of a huge, bloated, entity like the government in control. That means pretty much ZERO help for people who need it. Their only responsibility is protecting the country from outside threats. It's a step behind anarchy.

Delphi, not believing in universal healthcare is like not believing in ears or doorknobs. It's actually a tangible thing, dear. The USA is the only industrialized nation without a Universal healthcare system.
Yes, that means countries such as Chile, South Africa, Spain, India, Russia, UK, Israel, Australia, and about 104 other countries, with governments on all sides of the political spectrum, have such a system.. Thus posing the question: What the fuck is our problem? Or better yet, what the fuck is YOUR problem?
Now, i'm not trying to get a debate sizzled in here about it. If you or anyone want to debate me at it, there's plenty of threads already on the subject. PM me if you want to debate it with me instead of clogging these threads and sending us into a whole world of off topic and getting us into a flame war.
That said, I will decline from calling you a boogerface. For you do not deserve such a title. I will from now on refer to you as Tom Hanks, just for my own inside joke, and hilarious pleasure. You deserve it! =)

The majority of those who strongly associate with one side or the other are missing the legitimate points made by the opposing side... and appear to be arrogant assholes... both liberals and conservatives. Did that make sense? Hmmm....
 
Unfettered Capitalism? Are you insane? In a rudimentary society you would have a sort of communist/specialized economy. You would not have people producing commodities in means to accumulate vast extensive capital, which is what capital is all about. You would need a subsistence economy, not an economy producing for surplus which again is capitalism. These wouldn't be developed until subsistence is provided which is almost never.
It's also quite obvious you have never read the Communist Manifesto or Capital and if you ever did read them you would scourge it with such bias that it would be pointless for you to even open the pages. I have had to read them along with John Stuart Mill's On Liberty, which pertains straight to your ideals and they are all very thought provoking.
Delphi, I really suggest that you take a step out of your own skin just for one day and stop building this falsified facade that you perpetuate in your head of socio-economics. I hate to tell you but you are just plain wrong on a lot of things.

They both pass the same legislation. There divided on small issues but on the big ones, that uaully the news doesn't dive into, they vote the same,

Like the Patriot act, passed by bush in sketch fassion. Legalized what clinton was already doing illegally and obama supports bush on that.

The real issues that nobody pays attention to that will have a major impact on peoples lives down the road.

Unfortunately most people live their live hating the other "side" and watching their "side's " news network.

Never actually here any of the major issues, and spend their life fighting a completely ignorant battle.

If you really believe that the democrats or republicans are doing anything worthwhile these days, your just fooling yourself
