I'm Canadian independent at this point, simply because I think Stephane Dion was the dumbest choice for a party leader the Liberals could have made. I don't think I can force myself to vote for the apparently competent but still reprehensibly-principled cons.
 
i agree with oldschool republican values. i dont think anything the current admin(neoconservatives) do. but i also tend to agree with guys like nader and kucinich so i guess im a hybrid.
 
well actually, i share a lot of views from both sides that come from each political unit.

the point i was trying to make is that with the minority in canada both sides have pretty much come closer and closer together to the middle ground because the conservatives know that with a minority any of their more right wing opinions won't fly and it will lose votes, because as we already know, political parties in canada will do anything and i mean anything to stay in power, even if that means changing their opinion on matters that their party was built on. there is a lot of gray area now a days.

and i was just trying to get a rise out of the canadian liberals because it makes me laugh.

I really don't like affiliating with political parties, but on social issues I'm more republican, but foreign and any other affairs I usually come up democratic.
 
We did some shit in gov class to figure out what you were, i was kinda in the middle, little of both, but a little more demo.
 
I hate the division between political parties in America. I find myself agreeing with democrats on most issues, like abortion, stem cell research, gay marriage, etc. But honestly, for all that they stand for, Dem's over the last years CANNOT run... anything, honestly. I'm not sure which candidate I would vote for at this point, but I'll choose who I believe will be best for the country when it comes time to vote.
 
Because the Republicans have just done a bang up job running the country over the last few years, huh?
 
True, I'm honestly amazed at how incapable ANY political party is when it comes to running our government effectively. I really think a lot of it has to do with party politics and the extreme polarization in political views in this country as of late.
 
When you hit puberty and are actually more focused on political events instead of playing pokemon and having icons too mature for your age?

At this point with Iraq being Iraq I'll have to go in the middle of the road and say independant.
 
Wow I didn't realize how many Republicans there are on NS... I got the impression it was more liberal. I'm very liberal, probably mostly because of my bring up and living in western WA. However I'm disappointed in what the democratic party has produced for candidates this year, because they are both weak political figures. We need some good, strong, dynamic character to run the country and balance it out again... Too much middle of the road candidates since reagan...

However, I really despise George W. Bush.

Just becuase I am Republican, doesnt mean I have to support our crappy Republican Pres.
 
that's whats wrong in america, society is split, not between white and black, but more so between republican and democrat, i like some parts of both sides, and there are parts i hate as well, therefore i'm moving to canada

i think everyone is fucked in the head when it comes to a few things as far as their poilicies go. but i like the way harper is running things so i will vote for him if he stays in office until i can vote.
