Well this isnt the kinda stuff I like to see....

People are freaked after Sarahs death (SIP SB). This isnt what she wouldve wanted at all... Im kinda upset that theres this kinda backlash now because this is one of the things she worked for her whole life. I know its only a poll, but still.

People are stupid and uniformed and rely on media they get within the last week, DEAL WITH IT.

It's a poll by people who don't probably know anything about the sport.

Hell, half the people in Finland commenting the situation were trying to blame the "course managers" for making such a dangerous course, completely oblivious about what freeskiing and halpipe skiing even is, even when put into context next to snowboarding.

wasn't it last olympics or last worldcup that some russian dude died after smacking into a pole doing that ?

that stuff is gnarr !

was just about to mention this. Somebody died and they didn't cancel the event, so when somebody dies during halfpipe skiing, they shouldn't cancel it.

Its a different kinda fall, one your falling while going 60mph vs pipe you can fall 35+ feet to the ground

i know its bead but i was laughing really hard at the end of that video. too funny how bad they all got their ass kicked

i was loling during that whole skeleton video i mean, how do they hit those walls going that fast, they look like fish in barrel flopping around.

media and the general public are just awesome, aren't they?

I liked it when some politician proposed to make a law that made it illegal to go into the "backcountry" in BC. It would have been hilarious if somehow it came to fruition and everyone who voted it in all of a sudden realized that going for a walk or snowshoe or xc ski in the forest on the edge of town is now against the law. stupid media/politicians/general public - making misinformed opinions on things they know nothing about.

this will blow over, just like all the other "issues" the media talks about as their flavor of the week. Pretty sure the IOC, FIS, AFP, and the athletes involved were fully aware of the "dangers" when they decided to make halfpipe skiing part of the Olympics. Last I checked Fox News or the random dude in Florida that watches the news don't really get to have a say in the matter.
