Are we on the cusp of a medical golden age?

I think that these ideas are too big for this tiny thread. Start your own if you want an involved explanation, because its not a simple yes or no answer.

what if it was a cup of baby's blood?

the question becomes not whats in the cup but its direction..is it blood going to a baby, or is it coming from a baby?

From the previous page:

"I think that we'll soon have the technology to both cure current

diseases and quickly eliminate any new ones that come up, through

analysis of their structure and detailed knowledge of how they interact

with our bodies."

Sure, this question is a bit hypothetical, and most people seem to dismiss it quite readily, but think about it. Would the first world give up some of its money, jobs and power to save the third world?

I think that it has some validity, otherwise I wouldnt have posted. While I dont believe that such a tremendous and clear break will ever occur as what I've proposed, its an interesting idea that sheds light on our modern 'morality' and how willing we are to help others if it means loss for ourselves. Furthermore, its also good to consider extreme examples like this because much more subdued practices could already be going on in our country. Something at least to be aware and cautious of.

Now, I hope by expressing my opinion I have no scared anyone away. More comments are welcome, please, this is a scary idea in progress.
