Nothing against snowboarding, dont get me wrong.

For some reason we have all decided that our sport is not longer 'skiing' instead it's 'riding'. somebody explain this to me.

whether you're in the air, in the pow, or on the bunny hill (hehe), as long as you've got to boards, with one on each foot (and you're not a fucking pussy ass skiboarder) it's still skiing!!

I just think that the reason we started using this term is because we are either trying to fit in with snowboarders or we are simply trying to separate ourselves from the other parts of skiing, such as racing, and i just don't understand that, we're all skiers.

The reason I say ride is because that is what I am going to go do. If I said lets go race, would that not be considered skiing either. Skiing has so many different sectors to the sport. Mogul, Racing, Arials, Ballet, cross country. Freeriding is the 'I don't give two shits what anyone says about me I am skiing cause I ski'. I don't want to be affiliated with the spandex wearing racer fagets, Or those tight ass arielists. Some of the bumps girls from SMS are hotties, but I don't want to do moguls either. I just want to ski all over the mountain. Since most people on the mountain are from the east and are all park pussies then they don't understand what I am talking about when I say 'ALLMOUNTAIN' cause the only ski on icy hills. So you easterners are probably offened by this post but anyways fuck you. And YETI before you say anything about 'dissing' racers shut the fuck up, just go back to sucking your racing friends cocks. This whole riding thing didnt come about till all you assholes decided you were too good for all the other skiers on the mountain and wanted to separate yourselfs from them.

Well this is a stupid thread, i'll contribute anyways.

I say ride because it's easier to say then skiing. That k is pretty hard on the mouth and requires a lot of energy. Besides, as long as you know what i mean when i'm going riding (up to the mountain to slide on snow) then who cares.
