Are these mounted too far foward

Recently I asked advice about mounting me new 179 07' PEs. I measured from the mid sole of the boot and it is 3cm back from true center (which is about 2cm forward from K2s marked Core Center). Are these too far forward for park/all mountain/moguls?

Thanks,

Jake

No, I'm three 3cm back from true center (actual center of the ski). K2 marks core center way behind. My skis are 3cm back from true center and a couple cm forward from core center.

Last year I mounted my seths 1 inch back of tape-measured center, directly compared to my previous pair (mounted at something like +4 on the markings k2 prints on the side) I noticed the following:

- So much better for switch, hardly comparable.

- Better for swing weight. I'm a skinny little bitch so every bit helps.

- The downside is riding fresh snow. The seths were still sick but in comparison the further back the skis were mounted the quicker they popped up out of the snow. I noticed I had to lean back a lot more, but for the amount of pow I ski (not a lot) I much prefer the center mount.

So the short answer would be no, those aren't too far forward.

my fujy's this year are measured to DEAD center on the ski. not whatever k2 puts on the side as "core center" your not to far forward

What about all mountain/moguls? I realize these will be amazing switch skis, but will I be able to take them out of the park as well?

Thanks,

Jake

Their abilities on the rest of the mountain will be slightly less, but its not too big of a deal. I ski on true center mounted TMs and its not too bad.

put one ski upsidedown and compare with the other, if the bindings are mounted at the same place, they are perfect

that actually doesn't really work as the heel piece and toe piece are different sizes. and they will be perfectly fin all mountain, just a little harder if you take them into pow as you'll have to lean back more, and you're not even at true center, so you'll be golden.

I have a very similar question about my 182 foils.

I had them mounted at my local ski shop 1 cm back from true center.

I am 6'4", so would I need more length in the front? or does this look ok? They seem like they'll be alright to me.

I ski 75% park, and 25% on trails, etc. I live in the east, but I plan on going out west at least once this season.

Thanks for the help.

To the thread creator - Sorry to steal your thread! You've got a nice setup.

The best way to find out if they're mounted where you want them is to ride them. Your opinion matters more than somebody else's when it comes to the equipment that you'll be using every day.

for showing others where you mounted, put one ski tip up, the other tail up, thats the easiest way to compare the mount to true center

actually that does work if you compare at the midsole of the mount instead of the actual bindings

it's good, I mount park skis 1 back from the very center and they work allright for everything.

bumps will be rough, too much tail is a pain. Pow will be hella hard, because you'll have too much tail pushing your noses down. But if you know how to ski more than park, you'll be fine ... which you should be able to ski more than park. Hard pack and crud you won't notice anything.

For a park ski its pretty much perfect, but for all mt. its not so good, the only thing it will help you with is skiing switch in the pow, other then that not a good mount for all mt

you will be straight, if your not in front of true center your fine. i preffer 2cm back of T center but one is still goin to be sick.

I have my thrusters mounted halfway between true center and recommended mounting. I like them that way since I spend about 1/4 of my time in the park. But switch riding is pretty hard on my skis, since I've tried a few center mounted skis before. I think they're just right for park
