Are these Fixable (Epic Planks)

go into a shop and have them repair it with epoxy.

what they will have in terms of epoxy is better than you're going to find at your local hardware store. a shop is likely to have an epoxy that does not get brittle in the cold so it will last longer.

Everybody is only half right...if you want it to stay fixed you need rivets and epoxy. A heat gun would also be useful. I love fixing de-lams, wish I could help more

rivets are your best bet. k2 rivets all of their skis for an example.

and no solution is foolproof. you can fix it but it's already flawed. don't expect too much out of an already flawed ski.

Probably should throw some super small wood screws into the base along the tabs that hold the edge into your ski. This will help prevent that edge ripping out, which looks likely.

epoxy + lots of clamps will probably work. Fixed a similiar beat-up snowboard for a friend of mine some time ago and it worked fine.

Hey Jimmy,

Sorry to hear about your skis. As we mentioned in our email response to you:

"Obviously, your skis looked pretty banged up and we strive to make our skis last much longer than this. Occasionally we have some defective skis that can't handle the beating and we are happy to warranty skis in these cases."

We never heard back from after emailing you a week ago, so I will try to connect with you on here. Typically, we warranty with a receipt only but it sounds like you may have lost yours. If you can just email us the name of the shop you bought them at, approximate date of purchase, and the serial number of the skis, we will be happy to send you a fresh pair.

Cheers,

EP

Jimmy,

Just a heads up that those are next years model, which we have never sent to any stores or sold to anyone. There are a few pairs floating around from protoyping and testing different materials, etc., but nothing with those graphics of production quality. We are a bit skeptical as to where you would of purchased that pair..... Especially since you posted 2 threads in May 2013 talking about how you ride Line Masterminds but wanted to buy some Vaporizers:

Pretty sure those are my skis, don't know exactly how u got them.. Kinda uncool ur trying to warranty them hahahah

You know what"s really uncool... trying to take advantage of a company that is ready and willing to help any customer no matter his/her problem

Obviously I haven't seen the emails, but he never really mentioned warranting them in this thread... he just asked if they were fixable

Pasting the email exchange below, just so the record is straight. After Jimmy got our email response, he created this thread. It wasn't until after we replied via email and our first response in this thread, that it clicked that the skis pictured had never been sold to a shop or to any customers. That is when we realized that this was an attempt to scam us.

Email from Jimmy on 6/13:

Hello, my name is Jimmy and for the past few years I have been saving up for Epic Planks. Last year I had enough to buy them and did and I rode them all last season. As you can tell I really banged them up and am very upset because I wont be able to ride them next season. The Vaporizers are awesome skis! I learned so many tricks and won a lot of comps with these skis. I really hope for a reply form you guys because as of now I will not be skiing this upcoming season because of the condition of the skis. Thanks

Our response to Jimmy on 6/13:

It is great to hear from you and am glad to hear that you have enjoyed the skis and won comps on them. What comps were you able to win? Would love to hear about them.

Wow... Scam failure at its finest. Look at it like this though: Your skis(Vaporizers) are sooooo dope people are willing to lie and cheat to get them! They are the best out right now.

my buddy ian hamilton rides for them, and those are def the 13/14 vaporizers . epic planks is a really sick company imo. sad some lil fucktard tried to scam them, props to epic planks for handling the situation properly . very proper indeed . fuck scammers

JB Weld for epoxy, some clamps for sure, get a flat head hex bolt and nut. Drill a hole and countersink the head of the bolt. Tighten up the nut, then cut off whatever excess is exposed. Grind it down flat.

Wait, how would this scam have even worked? Did he just assume epic planks wouldn't notice a pair of their unreleased 13/14 skis being returned for warenty? Seems pretty fucking stupid to me..
