Are there any Publicly Traded Ski Companies

I have to do a presentation for my Global Strategic Analysis class, and rather than picking some stupid company that i have no interest in, I have been trying to find a ski company that is publicly traded. So far, through my research I have been unable to come up with 3 ski companies. I need 3: 1 to pick as my main company, and 2 competitors.

If anybody could throw some wisdom my way that would be fantastic. The companies CAN NOT be privately owned. They must be Publicly traded.

+++++K for any help.

Thanks NS'ers

I know that many resorts are owned by publically traded companies. Eg Stowe (VT) used to be owned by AIG, I think that was about 3 years ago though, I dont believe they own it any more. And If i had to guess, i would say to start with the bigger companies, like k2

K2, Full Tilt and Line are owned by The Jarden Corporation which is a publicly traded company on the NYSE.

Atomic and Salomon are owned by Amer Sports traded on NASDAQ

i'm not familiar with the english terms you're using, so publicly traded ski companies are companies with shares sold to investment groups ?If my memory is correct coreupt skis is partially owned by stockholder from the danone group (from the yoghurts) some of the other shares are in hands of guerlain chicheret (sp?) a pro skier and "owner" of the company

maybe look into their story ?

K2 is owned by Jarden, which also owns 5150 snowboards, Line, Full tilt, Karhu, Marker, Morrow snowboards, and Volkl and a ton of other brands that are not winter related. Check out their website at jarden.com, its super interesting to see how huge of a deal that corporation is.

Amer sports owns Atomic, Salomon, and Arcteryx. They have a few other bands as well that are pretty well known (Suunto, Wilson, Mavic, etc)

I believe both corporations are publicly traded. Seeing how massive these guys are really kind of opens your eyes to how large of a scale the ski industry really is.

black diamond is public...

but ya, as previous posters have said, most ski manufacturers are owned by massive conglomerates so it's hard to get detailed financials as most are listed as consolidated financial statements

aka if you read amer, you won't be able to figure out where the money from salomon vs. atomic is coming as it will be lumped together

i had to do a similar project for school a couple of years ago and vail was the easiest as far as being able to find comparisons. since they are a RESORT company you can compare hotel/entertainment companies to them and explain why they have an upper hand. check out http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=MTN and scroll down, right side will give you some other competitors you can compare them with. good luck!
