Are the Volkl Chopstick really that bad?

I just read a couple of reviews on the skis, and nothing but bad things, is this true? In freeskier they gave it a good rating. Are they good like they said in the mag or are they junk like what people on here said?
 
I think it depends on personal taste more than anything for those, I have seen very mixed reviews about them. Some people hate them, some love them to death, some are undecided. you might want to use advanced searchbar, because I think they have been in and out of a few threads after people demo'd them..........
 
One thing I do want to know, how heavy is to heavy, because that was a big one it seemed that they are way to heavy, and I'm guessing due to that super stiff
 
I skied them at a demo day in colorado and they were great. could actually carve on groomers and were soft but just stiff enough to not feel like noodles. I think they have the perfect amount of rocker and there symmetrical so they ski switch like a champ. I was impressed and I would defiantly buy them over any other rockered ski out there today. I dont know what other people say about them and i dont know why they wouldn't like them.
 
i actually just bought a pair of chopsticks. they are lighter than my 181 scott p4,s and a little softer, the rocker isn't mega huge either, but after watching hell bents chatter up and down i wasn't too stoked on them. I think people who don't like the chopstick are looking for more of a slower speed powder ski, while people looking for the chopstick are wanting to go fast, but still have some slower speed jibbing fun. not not having skied them i can't say for sure but i sure am stoked on them.
 
yeah dude, and not just cheap chop sticks. there super burly and have great shape to them. I actually used them the other day because we all got chinese food at the shop. they worked a whole lot better than the standard issue free chopsticks that you get when you get take out normally.

 


Dude, I heard they are a bit heavy for most people. How big are you and how big is your average bite? Do you like to gulp down your food quick or nibble and savour it. Do you prefer noodles or rice?
 
oh don't even think about taking these into rice... they're way to burly to be handling tiny rice grains. they charge through any noodles though don't worry about that. a good symmetrical chopstick flex too, gets stiffer in the middle .
 
haha. I have not used the skis, but I have used the actual chopsticks they give you. They are super easy to grip, and are really nice! I'd give them a 9.5 for looks, 9.5 for performance, and 9.5 overall (thats based on the french system of grading, where 10 = godly)
 
i actually used them again today on rice just to check out the rumors, and am happy to say that these are probably the best success i have ever had with chopsticks. the edge grip and handeling is so superb i was able to wedge two pieces of chicken around a clump of rice and put nirvana directly into my mouth.

they definitely charge noodles like no ones business though. and for reference I'm 5 10, 160, xl hands, and bite size moderate to large.
