Are skis actually bulletproof?

Naw legit question. Maybe not shooting perpendicularly down at the topsheet, but let’s say a standard 9mm bullet fired at a ski parallel. Theoretically, with a super cambered ski, the projectile would have to travel through, let’s say, 175cm of material. A Vishnu ski may not save your life. Your 9 millimetered buddy will only have to travel through probably 110 cm of wood, fiberglass, and plastic. this brings another point up… longer skis are more bulletproof? At what angle-of-entry does your ski become bulletproof? Will ON3P beat all other planks?

someone who’s got old skis laying around who is smart enough to take advantage of 2A rights should try this and report back.

Yeah, get ur buddy to stand on the other side side of the ski. Shoot, if he feels something then skis r not bullet proof.

A vishnu could probably stop a .22 shorty perpendicular if you shot the under the foot. If you shot through the legnth of the underfoot of a wide 106mm could probably stop a standard 150grain 9mm and .45 target round (low pressure not built to penetrate). Ide say that the claim they will stop a bullet is true if its the right bullet and it hits the right place. But I think you would shoot up emmetts entire stock before you got a bullet to go all the way through a 171 without bouncing out.

Ill probably go out past Basalt today if I do ill stop fill some skis with led for ya. Its gonna have to be a pair of atomic GS skis tho bc those are the only ones ive got on the chopping block. I doubt I can get a bullet to robinhood split the ski down the middle all 170cm but ill give it a go.

.40 tho not a 9mm

Can the ARVs stand up to an AR? FIND OUT NEXT ON Summer NS

Well to my surprise atomic GS skis wont stop a .40 Fmg 165 grain bullet on their own. However if you manage to make it hit the binding your odds are pretty damn good they will stop the bullet in its tracks no problem. Below is the a link to the rest of the pictures of the aftermath.

Maybe they used to be cooler, but they are still way better looking than the average ski base.

the classic green bases are sick and no one will ever be able to make bright colored bases look good. Colors aren’t too big of a concern though when you make bases that could be substituted as airplane landing gear and not be damaged at all.

I just want more options than acid green man.

Custom has a lot of options. You can even email them asking for the old orange ones or whatever else, the worst that can happen is they say no.

You should bring them in to some resort retail place now and ask for a full tune.

My plan is to just go in and ask them to set the binding to my boot.

I was really hoping for some video!

I wanted to and planned to but when I got to the range it was closed. I ended up on the side of a mountain in a cloud getting rained on. At the time it was enough work trying to keep everything dry.

I feel like most skis would stop a .22 LR

we tested this in 2013. very resilient

They sell the explosive bags/boxes that you place under said object and shoot the explosive. . should work but likely the ski will just jettison into the air as opposed to blowing up

Your skis might be bulletproof... but are they bombproof? Who's gonna blow up their skis for NS "research"
