In my school, most of the kids who are on the mountain snowboard, is this true in your school too?

At my university, skiers control the bus that goes up to Tremblant every weekend. Back in high school, there were people who tried to snowboard and said they did, so I guess skiers were in the minority. The skiers were deffitely more hardcore and could actually ski.

^yeah, thats the way it is here, too. most of the snowboarders that say that skiiers are pussies or whatever really suck. The snowboarders that are chill with skiiers are really good and fun to ski with

there are like 10 freeskiers at my high school...there arent that many kids that snowboard either tho

i was the only skier at my school, now that i'm gone there are like 5 of them. but in other points, on the mountain i think that skiers are becoming much less of a minority, especially this past season. snowboarding is definitely a bigger industry. but i think skiing is represented better because people who ski, for the most part really ski, a lot, all the time. because (freestyle) skiing hasn't yet become a sport that is "cool" not that many 12 year olds are begging their parents to let them get freestyle skiing lessons, right?

But for the youth like anything below mid to late 20's, then yes we are. I am the only freeskier at my school and everyone who hears i ski, they are like man you're gay... I just tell them I'll see them at the hill, and when/if i do, they have a totaly new respect for the sport

no dude, at the beginning there were more snowboarders, but by midway through the season of going, there were more skiiers

Santa Catalina School: 315 girls.

216 resident students, the rest are day students.

3 freeskiers, 8 skiers.

the rest snowboard if they have anything to do with the snow.

my school is in the most boring town on the coast of california (monterey) so most girls just shop. luckily im a day student and live in santa cruz so i can surf when i want and ski on weekends.

actually i graduated so i never have to think about it again. wahhahaha. fuck you santa catalina school for girls.

my town is fairly big on freestyle skiing compared to other places, or so i hear. we have about 10 kids skiing good competatively... 10 or 15 others who try to imitate but just suck.. then a shitload of little kids in their 'jumps n bumps' program who are ike 8 or so.

 
i go to an all girl school.

so we really dont have skiers or snowboarders.

but i am the only freeskier.

ya i got the ones that go skiing once a yr, but fuck them.

I dont know about population schoolwise, But I do know that on most of the hills that i go to there are just about an equal number of skiers as there are snowboarders in the park. And normaly, the skiers are going bigger and have more style than the boarders.

we have ski club, and most of the people snowboard, ther are like 8 good skiers, and we trian for ski team(racing) then spend the night in the park, Lefroy on the site is also a freeskier

at my school in australia there are shit loads of snowboarders and only twoi freeskiiers all the others race or havent seen snow

if it were easier it would be called snowboarding

i live in the middle of fucking now where and u would expect that no one would even ski, well theres like 6 of us in my high school who actually do and this freshmen who just started this year and now is in whistler for COC, i used to be the only guy to do tricks on skis and now its like defineatly growing

yeah at my school with 900 or so kids. theres 1 newschooler(me) and then theres about 3 or 4 other kids that ski but they only ski like 10 days a year. and then theres like 50 or so kids that snowboard 1 day a year and think there the shit.

it seems like this stage of life for a lot of people around our age is like when you are playing a video game and you beat the Final Boss, only to find out that it was just a decoy Final Boss and the real Final Boss is ten times stronger. and you used all of your life and special powers on the decoy.
 
^ haha. i dunno, i dont even look at whats on peoples feet. generalizing people by what they ride is stupid. i generalize people by HOW they ride. and at my school, there were 3 people in my high school (Me, Andy, Brandon), and one kid in the middle school who ripped (the infamous lil rogi, the coolest 14 year old ive ever met!) that were any good, and a bunch of people that were decent, but overall sucked. at Snowtrails, its overwhelmingly skiers outside the park, and in the park its still mostly skiers, id say about 2 skiers for every boarder. and pretty much everyone there is pretty good.

my school takes probably 3 or 4 buses to the mountain every friday. id say the majority are probably snowboarders. there are only a few freeskiers and probably a total of about 15 kids who can actually shred between the skiers and snowboarders. the rest just go up do a few runs and complain about how cold they are.

in my town about 3 freeskiers. this its just me though.

but this year was sick because we had a jail jam for may day and i was the only kid on skis and people were lookin at me funny. they were like "dude you gonna hit this?" and i was like "yeah." "oh, i didn;t know you could do that on skis."

so i showed the snowboarders how its done. 270s on and off switch on and switchups. i think i might have opened peoples eyes and they might try skiing. im trying to spread it but people still think skiing is gay. whatever. fuck them
